I had no idea they made a Hawk & Dove movie.

Not saying it was a good film :lol

Just highlighting some of the more jarring flaws of BvS.

You bring up a great word....flaw!

The biggest flaw is Superman not being the Superman fans want, a guy who looks for survivors after the explosion, a guy who uses his God confidence to play around with Batman trying to change him and a guy who hangs out with humans, like a beat cop.

Sure I would love for him to be that light as a contrast to the bleak decade we live in where murder is allowed to flurish because of political correctness and a junk justice system while government corporation corruption is at an all time high, where we blame Mexico gangs for our drugs while we ignore that we create the demand for it, but he's not.

He's as dark as the times we live in, his mother even tells him we're not worth saving as a species, just ignore us and move along.

His earth father told him to let kids drown then he killed himself.

I'm not going to hold that against the movie though because just maybe he will eventually become the man his real father Jor-El wanted him to become.

His species wasn't all noble and perfect either.

Besides, it wasn't boring like MOS and it has the BATMAN post TDKR coffee shop, and that counts for alot! :lol

the problem is that there is no contrast between batman and superman.
superman became a typical batman and batman became the punisher, so this movie should have been called "Batman from before Nolan Era Vs The Punisher" because Superman in here reminded me more of a typical batman than anything else.

The dark, serious mopey Superman didn't bother me in Man Of Steel just because there was nothing to contrast against, But I thought in this movie Snyder was going to create more of a contrast with Batman. but it ended up being two mopey serious depressing guys going at each other.

Excellent aricle! :clap

I'm really surprised at the amount of seemingly smart people that just aren't "getting" huge aspects of this movie. Like Peter David. He goes off about how Superman is this detached "god" that we can't relate to or like. That when he sat in the Capital building it was "as a god annoyed with the stupidity of mortals." I think it's pretty shocking how out of touch he is with what was being presented on screen. Are certain folks like him (not individuals here, I literally am talking about these high profile figures weighing in on the movie) just turning off their brains and connecting dots at random?

He isn't a god at all, in fact I'd probably argue that he's the *least* godlike of all live-action Supermen. Because just being indestructible doesn't make you divine. Hell we might as well call Wolverine or Captain Man from Henry Danger "gods" then. To me a god figure needs to have an unshakable moral code, a sense of purpose and idealism far above mortal men that coincides with his "powers." Cavill Supes doesn't have that. In fact I'd even argue that Evans Cap is a more apt "Christ figure" (especially in The First Avenger) than Cavill.

Cavill is a guy just trying to do what's right with a set of plays that no one can run but him and he's trying to practice it all under intense trial-by-fire circumstances and fierce scrutiny. When he sat in the burning Capital all I saw was a good guy going "****, I am so freaking in over my head here, I'm dealing with evil that I haven't even acknowledged exists yet..." and that really rattled him. Would Steve Rogers have sat there? Of course not, because he's got his Messiah **** together. But Supes isn't there yet. He needs help and experience and a little bit of faith and I think we can all relate to that on some level.

I honestly predict that this film will rise from its own ashes and be appreciated more and more as time goes on.

I was going to feign ignorance and ask you, "who the hell is Captain Man", but then I realized its just an attempt to look cool. :lol

The sad fact that is I am not only familiar with Henry Danger, but I'm familiar with Little Ponies, Pet Shop Pets and all manner of Disney Channel programming. The burden of Fatherhood, I think I deserve a medal, or at least a day off.

Wait! We were talking about BVS, right?

My wife mentioned giving me a daddy day off, sad thing is I actually considered going to the movie. I must gather my resolve, I can't go back on my word! ;)

How are they going to explain Batman is now a killer? yet the joker is alive. Ben did a good job, but Batman has a character, hated this Batman

Its funny how doomsday is seen everytime you attack him, the stronger he gets. Yet the mini Justice Team keep attacking him, lol, hell even the humans drop a nuke on him knowing he can get stronger every time you attack him LOL

This has already been discussed. This Batman did once have a strict "no-kill" policy. He slowly changed after losing Robin and then something broke after the Black Zero Event. Still, it's not like he's going out of his way to murder people in BvS. And pretty much every other live action Batman has killed as well. Yet now everyone decides to lose their ****. :lol

Anyway, we may yet see that Batman in a solo film, because Ben can easily play the character 10 years or so younger than in BvS.

Yes, but are they going to establish this in suicide squad? because Joker should be killed in one movie, if Batman has no kill policy, all the batman villains have no chance now. Its funny how Bruce says superman can kill anyone, look at Batman killing, lol. I just do not think it is even explained right, now he has no moral code

Actually, what he points out is that Superman has the power to wipe out the ENTIRE Human race. That's just a tad different. :lol

Also, again... the Keaton and Nolan Batman both also killed people, some in almost the exact same ways as in BvS. Where was all of this righteous indignation then?

This made me laugh at quite a few parts. Skip to the 3 minute mark to get to their review.

It's obvious that these guys went into this movie wanting to hate it.

The Batman killing is blown way out of proportion. He had a no kill policy, black zero happened, he will do anything to make sure it doesn't happen again, the lives of a few thugs mean nothing when he is trying to save billions, after he saw that Superman was good he has changed the way he views things, no kill policy back in place. This was very obvious in the movie if people actually paid attention.
