AoU is still entertaining for me but it's a very "safe" film. It doesn't get under my skin, feel tense, make me nervous at any point. BvS has that throughout (multiple Lex scenes, the Senate hearing, watching B and S fight, race against time to save Martha, etc.) I like movies that are more visceral like BvS.

Eh, for me it's a boring film with poorly written characters.
I'll never watch it again.

I actually quite like it, seen it three or four times now. But I get what you mean by boring. It could have, and should have, been much better.

BvS has some good moments and if it had been put together with some kind of structure and they had cut a few bits out it could have been properly good.

Well, it would take more than just that but the bones of a good film are there.

I think it has a nice rained on look to it. And since the fight took place in the rain, it fits.

The director's cut might be a good movie.

Think the problems go beyond anything a new cut could fix, but it'd be nice to see even a little bit of improvement.

The scene where Lex dips Zod's body into the water...it made me feel real uneasy. Here lies this warrior who fought with his last breath for his people, now being dishonored and transformed into some monster.

Again, this is the stuff Disney won't do because it'll scare the children.

It's ok, Faora will get her revenge...

Cap was awful. Ultron was awful. Thor was wasted. Tony was blah. Natasha & Bruce's romance made no God damn sense. The twins were undercooked.

The only good characters were Vision & Hawkeye (and Serkis' small role as The Klaw).

I gave it a 7.5/10 when I left the theater. A year later its down to 7/10.

Still mad at Hot Toys for not honoring how awesome she was with a 1/6 figure. Such a fail on Howard's part.

My display with Supes, Zod & Jor-El honestly feels incomplete without her.

I like movies that are better period- BvS is a far beter written acted and directed film in my book> Nothing wrong with AoU as far as a superhero fun watch but beyond that it is empty - BvS was full of tense moments and I felt like there was real threat to the main characters.....I have NEVER felt a MCU movie showed real threat ..and yes depite the fact you know Bats and Supes are always going to be ok in the end!

I think, I think if I go to this movie again with the mindset that I'm going to watch a detective type drama like a law and order- serious type of movie I might be able to maybe enjoy it. If I go with the mindset of watching the devils advocate or inception or something like that in mind I might be able to not hate it.


( but then again doomsday and joker lex ruins this..... Specially lex) but then maybe lex is Like an al pacino in devils advocate... I don't know. I might be able to get over a grim superman but I don't think ill ever be able to get over how nonsensical lex was.

No amount of explaining will ever make me accept that he makes any sense as a character. I'm sorry but lex is and will always be a freaking terrible mess. Just a nonsensical mess...

Yeah, most of Disney's MCU is safe, generic popping corn. I'd only deem a few of their films great.

BvS was an Oscar winner compared to the crapfest that is AoU

Captain America TWS is the only comic film that has gotten me to be on the edge of my seat with concern for the main hero. And that car chase with Nick Fury is amazing! At no time did BvS do this for me. I am not complaining but it is what it is. BvS was never exciting or intense for me. It was good eye candy and fun to watch but not nearly as good or as important as it thinks it is. Which is why it's not a better film IMO. Don't get me wrong I still like it... But I don't know if it will ever hold up to repeat viewings very well.

Yeah but at least there is some great... As far as "great" goes DC is failing with this new Universe they are trying to create. They have made Bad (MOS) and good (BvS) I hope they can get around to great at some point. Granted there are only two but they are two films that should have ben easy homeruns IMO.


BtW I liked you 8/10 for The Incredible Hulk.. Underrated movie IMO.
