I don't get your toy comment but toys have become a grown up thing now.

Well, don't take my word for it because I don't even reside in the US, but apparently, BvS toys aren't really moving that well. Folks in various sites are reporting that they move rather slowly. Again, I'm not 100% certain of that, it might be an isolated incident, but I've read the same remark in various sites (CBM, CBR, CV, even Tumblr). Dunno, but at least it holds true for some stores.

I do get a kick out of the hoopla over the tub scene. I get the thought process behind it, but it's kind of hilarious to me that people are like "yeah, no biggie about that dude being beheaded by a tire, but Amy Adams' cleavage is a HUGE 'no-no.'" Honestly, there have been more revealing dresses at the Oscars.

I want to agree but I guess they still want to go slightly young so no full blown Fincher.

I'm not a horror guy myself (I don't have a problem with the imagery, but I'm really sensitive to extreme sounds), but since this universe is already dark, why not go full-on with Batman especially? Scarecrow, Hush, Callendar Man (his diary in Arkham Knight was really messed up, and worst thing is, some of these were similar to real crimes, which made them all the more unsettling), Man-Bat and the like could benefit from an R. You can't be both "mature and dark" and still want money from the "kiddies"... Obviously they want dem toy cash, but come on, at least be consistent.

I don't understand the hate that movie gets. It was a good movie and better than the first crappy hulk film we got where we had to "look at his daddy issues". I mean come on we had hulk ****ing **** up and a cool fight at the end. O well .

With DC, it's a total crap shoot. But with Marvel Studios, they are so successful that I don't see any changes for at least 5 or 6 years. Unless Avengers 3 flops or something.

Recasting RDJ would be a terrible mistake. Because that character is simply RDJ. With Banner, and Rhodey, and even potentially with Cap or Thor or Spidey I don't think it would matter nearly as much (though with Evans being the other marquee guy, I don't think they would recast him, either). But for that single character I do not imagine it happening.


Tub scene doesn't bother me for kids (I must have a more European sensibility when it comes to that kind of thing), but the vibe of sadness and despair draping over everything does. Also, the brutality of the Batman fights. I'm talking < 10 year olds, though. If I were 12, I would have probably fell in love with this movie.

Not being born in the USA I share your same sensibilities when it comes to sexual depiction.

While I won't be exposing my son to XXX movies I also lol when people lost their jobs over Janet Jackson's nipple gate where it was visible for all of 2 seconds!

11 years ago Batman Begins made $374 million worldwide. Crazy how much expectations have changed.

I blame Batman and Robin for that low number. Batman 89 made over $400 million and that's without adjusting it for inflation...which I'm not a fan of, but still, over $400 almost 20 years before BB.

Disney needs to buy WB.

Man, the fact that people are debating whether or not this film will make it to a billion, it shows what a failure and a missed opportunity this truly was BVS should have been the type of film that brings people all generations together to see something they've never seen in more than 76 years. This should be a film with tons of replay value, but instead, most people will probably go see it once, if they even go see it at all.

Hmmm.. Don't think I can agree there Irish. 60-70% drop off is not good or normal for a movie with zero new competition.
Deadline are reporting on this quite strongly, the point being is that it shows a massive lack of interest in a new movie, it validates the studios worst fears that the curtain has dropped from the prerelease hype and that audiences won't come back for another dose of the same medicine with JL.

Yeah, JL is really going to feel the effects of this film, unless SS and WW are great, and then it's like BVS never happened and people will be excited again.

WB should've just released the R cut.

That would be nice, but that might cost extra money...and I doubt WB wants to spend more on this thing.

Waits for JAWS to come and defend TIH, as he should, it was a good movie (great Blonsky) tainted by Norton's battle with Marvel and removal causing a shift in Hulk design and the mystery disappearance of Betty from the MCU!

No doubt, fun movie but feels like the ******* stepchild of the MCU. Box office thing again.

It sounds like you don't have a firm grasp on what is and isn't tempting behavior. No one watches Looney Tunes or Batman and then goes out and drops anvils or tires on people's heads. But watching sensual scenes, especially those that are teasing nudity, can be a gateway to a very problematic addiction especially if cultivated at a very young age. It just isn't necessary. My kids will get plenty of exposure to that for the rest of their lives, I'm not going to go out of my way to show them now. The fact that it was also out of wedlock, involving Superman (yeah, I get it, this isn't my father's Superman, didn't need THAT drilled any further) who is supposed to have somewhat loftier convictions than your average dude, etc., just something that I'm not going to pay money to expose my kids to.

But that's me, you get to raise your own kids however you see fit.

Random, irrational complaint: Was anyone else disgusted by the bathtub scene? Clark enters inside with his shoes on! I mean, WTF man? Who knows what germs his soles have, and there he goes getting inside a filled to the top with water bathtub while his girlfriend is naked in there. And then they have ***? Inside that water? I know it's stupid, but it made me go "oh, that's nasty"...
