I totally understand what your saying. I have this stigma when it comes to DC characters that I dont know where it came from but I just feel like the heroes are either too strong or really lame. This kept me from reading a lot of DC books growing up but watched the Batman and Superman animated series.

I wouldn't say that I have something like this, it's just that I never got emotionally attached to them, so I can trade-wait most of their books. I would've pulled a John/Hal book for example, or an Authority team-title, but even though I like Midnighter I won't be pulling Nightwing in case he makes an appearance. Whereas with Marvel I'll try books such as Black Knight, because I'm more familiar with their world.

Yeah, nothing really new. Same old stories retold just with different characters. I do like Doctor Strange and Vision though.

As I've said, there are some gems, but most are generic super-hero tales. Invincible Iron Man is boring, which is a shame, since Fraction's Invincible Iron Man is one of my favourite runs ever. Ugh, Doctor Strange is so damn bad. I guess as a standalone book it's pretty great, but Stephen's characterization is so bad that I just... ugh. I'm still pulling it because he's in my Top 10 characters, but I'm not loving it. It's been getting better though. Vision is gold though. I'm trade waiting that cause it was obvious it wouldn't last long, but from what I've read, it's one hell of a book. It makes me all the more excited for King on Batman (he's worked for the CIA FYI).

The constant relaunches are a PITA but, honestly, it's a good move for me. After a writer is over with their story, a new one takes over and you can either jump on or jump off. I dislike Bendis' version of Iron Man, but I know that as soon as a new writer comes onboard, and I like what he/she does, I'll be able to jump back on. I understand why some are angered, but seeing as I can only get my stuff through subscriptions, this helps me greatly.

All you can do is find some good books and support them.

True. I'm sure Titan's Dark Souls won't be around for long, but I'm gonna support it cause I want it to last at least a year. invincible's the one I've been meaning to jump onto, but the first few issues cost waaaay too much, and the series has progressed waaay too far for me to do so. I like the feel, the world and what I've seen from the characters, but it's kida late for me.

No, that's your definition of success. Most people consider it the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame and considering most did enjoy the film and it made butt loads of money, I rest my case.

Amazing Spiderman 2 was financially a success right? it made double it's budget.

tell me, what happened to that franchise? what happened to the other movies announced and the Sinister six spin off movie? the movie did well in the box office, it didnt FLOP........ they could have very well continued with the third movie they had planned.

So................... yeah............what happened there? wanna explain to me?

Invincible in in trades

Yeah I know, but I prefer singles if I'm going to collect a series. It's not impossible if you collect the second printings, but you need around 600$ or so to catch up right now. Hell, I need 200$ to catch up on East of West, Ninjak, Bloodshot and some others. But yeah, Invincible is most likely going to my trade list. Still, I would've liked to read it monthly, as it looks exactly like what I want from a super-hero book: Humour, blood, violence, high-stakes, strange concepts and some serious moments amongst all the cheesy fun. Plus, the costumes, and lore in general, are wicked cool!

I feel bad for DC that this movie isn't likely to make as much money as they hoped. I thought it was a good film and I'm glad the box office isn't halting their production on this universe.

Wonder Woman remains my most hyped film for next year. :rock
I just wanted it to make a billion so they wouldn't fire Zack, but apparently they're letting him finish JL :rock that's all I wanted.

They'll definitely fire him afterwards though.

But it's a different studio that probably measures success differently. Interesting side note, Amazing Spider-man 2 has a 53% rating on Rotten tomatoes.

I prefer Marvel comics over DC. For some reason, DC books really dont mesh with me (other than the Batman series and similar books). But comics are a pain in the ass now with all of these reboots. Which, has made me appreciate other companies like Image more and more.

I agree with you completely as far as Marvel and DC books nowadays. I don't care for them at all. They are crapping all over continuity with all these reboots. Because of this I can never feel vested with either company currently.

Well, Marvel hasn't rebooted. Secret Wars was a wide-line relaunch with an easier entry point, nothing has been erased. Yeah, stuff have been retconned, such as Flash fighting in the Afghan war rather than the Gulf one, or Spider-Man not being "born" in the 60s, but that's what's called a "sliding timescale". Nothing from the past has been erased (for example, Doom mentions his adventure with Tony in King Arthur's days in #150 & #151), in contrast with the New 52 which was a straight-up reboot.

Relaunches are a PITA, but, as I've said, for me they're life-savers...

The biggest reason is like what Jye said, the Sony scandal.
Andrew was vocal blaming the people at Sony for being the reason Spiderman 2 was bad.
He bit the hand that feeds him...came out admitted that the movie was bad.

When you're signed to make appearances and make interviews after a movie, you're supposed to promote it, not bash it.
But it was the same reason Meagan Fox was fired for saying the transformers sequel was crap.
Andrew Garfield also got fired.

Think of this situation with WB on BvS...WB responded a couple of days ago saying they're not concerned at all with the 2nd week drop off.
You know this is damage control.
But think of the damage that can happen if the emails got leaked and there are talks of firing Snyder, or postpone JL...etc.
The damage would be huge.

Disney bought Rotten Tomatoes. :lecture

From here on out, their movies will be 99%

Doesn't WB own rotten tomatoes?? I swear I saw someone mention this before.

Everyone forgets how Marvel treats their directors.

Russo/Gunn will soon implode like the rest. :lol

Marvel will spit them out when they're done with them.
