That's something I wonder about for myself too. To me Zack Snyder movies pretty much always serve their purpose the first one or two times I see them. I've enjoyed sitting through all of his films, including Sucker Punch. But they do seem to have a shelf life that maxes out at about 2-4 viewings. I liked MOS, saw it in the theater, again on blu-ray, and then haven't been able to sit through it from beginning to end since. I'm hoping that once the warehouse and Doomsday fights of BvS become old hat that I'll still be inclined to revisit the film. We'll see.

Pretty much. I tried to watch MoS a 2nd time and I didn't manage to get past the 30 minute mark.

I thought the most important aspect of the film, the whole Batman vs Superman conflict, was underwhelming and a big disappointment. WW, the warehouse scene, and the final battle were the most entertaining parts of the film. Everything else was boring. MOS is such a better film and it gave us a much better Superman and Clark Kent.

What I want to know is how did Luthor know Bruce Wayne was batman and why didn't he use that info better? why did Superman need Batman to find his mother? When he's flying he's always going like Mach 5 so he could cover all of Gotham and Metropolis pretty quick.

just seen this posted on the shh jla boards ,irish or anyone know if this has any truth to it or is it the usual internet crap

Sorry guys asking for a link, I fell asleep last night lol but I got it from Reddit so take it with a huge grain of salt. He also has a lot of other info. True or not, it sounds plausible.

- Johns and Berg apparently have a great chemistry together. Both understand each other's strengths and own weaknesses. Berg is there to ensure these movies work as films and can resonate with the audience. Johns is there to make sure the spirit of the DC universe and its characters are correctly captured. This is no longer a case where filmmakers can just dismiss his suggestions like years before. He now has actual power. He can nix an idea that he finds harmful to the spirit of a character if needed.

- There was some friction between Snyder and Johns for the direction of the DCEU post-BvS. Johns and Berg are going to take the DCEU slate post WW in a much different direction. JL will structurally remain the same, but enough small tweaks will be made to improve the movie and direction of the universe. Hence another reason why Ben Affleck has been given a bigger role within the production of JL. Johns's recent comments of "hope" in regards to Rebirth also rings true of the DCEU. Less cynicism. The tonal shift won't be huge, but these movies will be more hopeful.

- Expect the direction of Superman to change. Mos and BvS were more focused on Superman as a phenomenon and less as a character. Johns and Berg plan to change that.

- Johns and Snyder weren't on good grounds before the release of BvS in terms of what was going to happen in universe post BvS. It mainly stemmed from Snyder's outright refusal to listen to any criticisms Johns had in regards to the approach of BvS and the universe there after. Snyder is a very gung ho person and once he gets an idea in his mind he is going to go for it until the movie underperformed financially and critically that is. Snyder's tune has changed since then as he is working very collaboratively with Johns, Berg, and Affleck on what will be his last "DC Films" movie

- They have met with a handful of people to direct Flash. Biggest issue is they really like the treatment they have in place for the film, so they need the director to buy into that and not tweak too much. I haven't heard much on GL. Studio is keeping this one super tight lipped. If I have to makevan educated guess on what I do know I'd say it comes out sooner than the stated date. Johns loves that pocket of the DCU and could possibly pushing for it hard

- The studio really loves SS and so much so that they gave Ayer more money to spend on it. The reports of them in talks to develop a sequel are also true. As for WW Johns and the studio are genuinely much more excited for audiences to see this film than they were for them to see BvS

- Word is that this is Affleck's most anticipated project he's ever worked on. He's stoked to start it.

I'm with you on just about everything you've said in this post. Even though I'm not a fan of MoS, there weren't as many moments in that film that took me completely out of what was happening as there were in BvS, so I'm that sense I'd say it was better.

Reading Khev's checklist I was answering the opposite to what he had so that explains quite a bit on our differing opinions of this movie. I still think there was enough good things in BvS where it would have been more entertaining if it were edited differently. I would have actually put the 'main event' at the very beginning of the film(right after the opening credits with Bruce's parents death), cut the battle right before the Martha moment, had Affleck do a quick voiceover saying "how did we get here"or something poignant, black screen cut to Bruce landing in Metropolis while it's being attacked. That's just for starters, but it would definitely have made the battle more interesting to me having seen it and then wondering what events are going to then lead up to that moment.

I think WW was good but mostly because she was a breath of fresh air. Like rolling down a window in a farty car.

The farty car is Supermsn, if that wasn't clear.

Even with regard to Affleck and Gadot? I thought everyone agreed that they were standouts in an otherwise mixed bag.

I was really unimpressed with Gadot, but that was mainly because she didn't do much in the movie. Affleck as Batman was just OK to me, not great. Love his performances in other dramatic movies(really looking forward to The Acountant) but not here.

:lol Almost all of that is pure fanboy drivel.

The only real accurate thing in there is that WB was so thrilled with Suicide Squad that they gave Ayer the money and time to go back and shoot some action stuff that he originally had to cut out of the budget. But that's already been reported anyway.

The rest is almost entirely made up nonsense.

Mr Snyder is tired of our ****!

Justice League he should have a scene where batman shows up at SDCC and just beats the **** out of people.

Have batman go online and log in on sideshow freaks and fight with everyone there.

Pure meta, so meta

How early in this forum's existence must one have joined in order to nab the name Batman.

That's a good question. Maybe not that long, I always saw this forum as more of a Star Wars/Indiana Jones/ George Lucas haven, not necessarily a comic book place. I found this forum in 2008 when HT was making all the TDK stuff, but I didn't become a member until 2013, and by then Batman was taken. When was this forum created anyway?
