Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Before the Hunt for the Dark Knight book (before Batman gets the **** beat out of him by the leader), when Batman returns.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Ugh, no blue please. The grey is already somewhat weird in terms of practicality but I'm sorry, the blue is just stupid imo. Batman without a black cape and mask genuinely is not batman to me, a batman without any black? I don't understand who ever thought of that. Never got the blue at all except as a reflecting hue.

Don't really have any dealbreaking demands except a black cape and cowl. Arkham Asylum is as blue as I can dig.

Just for clarity do you mean you agree or do you mean my opinion is exactly that, just my opinion?

Depite anything Smith said I hope it will come down to this:

Is that not a very dark blue? If so your post is contradictory to that picture.

And that is the iconic Batman look grey body suit with dark coloured cape, cowl, gauntlets, boots & sometimes undies over his suit.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

No Silrian, I'm not agreeing with your disdain for blue. :lol

..& yeah - that Jim Lee pic is what I'm talking about; that murky dark blue / green / close to black colour.

I know it's a comic thing, but that as a solid colour for the movie suit would be great.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I'd say that fabric is a glossy black that reflects blue and in comics it's fine how they have to draw that pretty over the top. Inn real life I expect that very suit to shine way less blue. And in shadows without light it will be full black (which is the point).

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

It's the same thing with parts of cavill's superman suit, in the sunlight some ridges and lines almost looked silver, but in real life they're actually factually black.

Nah, blue wouldn't be stupid, it'd be great!

We're not talking some gaudy, light blue akin to the comics or Adam West purple/blue. A deep, dark blue would look killer on the cowl, cape, boots and gloves I think. Practicality? Black isn't any more practical. The guy wears a massive cape tied to his neck and a mask that completely kills peripheral vision, nothing practical about those. Besides, blue is a common color used in actual night camo, that and dark grey. It could totally work for stealth or whatever. It worked for Cap in Winter Soldier and nobody rolled an eye.

Batman's all about looks. As long as the dude doesn't have nipples or some weird ****, the black, blue grey, doesn't matter, as long as he looks cool. If this black and grey suit works out (and judging by the response, it will), I hope we see blue and grey in the sequels. Maybe even the return of the bat-yellow oval chest symbol.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

As far as blue goes, I'm really hoping this film and Batfleck are hugely successful. Not only because I'd like to see DC get their **** together, but, also, because it might start a trend of more comic accurate costumes. Neal Adams Bats by 2040?:rock :lol

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

That's where it becomes ridiculous to me. Without direct light he should be black, at the very least concerning the cape. Otherwise his whole predator tactics is a load of BS.

Nonsense. He relies on shadows to hide and dark blue would work exactly the same as black under poor lighting and dark areas. He doesn't stand in the open in his black cape etc. cover his suit and disappear. He works in the shadows to avoid being seen and to that effect dark blue would work just as well as black.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Not in my experience. If you conceal yourself in a dark space in something that's clearly distinguishable from black you will be seen. I also don't get why you'd even bother taking the risk. There's no practical sense whatsoever in choosing a vibrant blue. Sorry man, to me batman wearing actual average to even light blue fabric is just CB silliness.:lol

Anything other than a really dark blue like he has in Arkham Asylum looks ridiculous imo. But hey, I'll immediately explicate that I find a non-dark take on Batman ridiculous in general. If he's not a dark gothic-esque appearance that's meant to frighten people I couldn't care less about the character.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Thing is, nobody is saying anything about a "vibrant, light blue".

We all said dark, so it looks like you agree.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

It has to feel and look "realistic".

Like Nolan, yo.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

If it's dark blue that's so dark that it actually is indistinguishable from black in low lightning, yeah then I'm fine with it. Not what I prefer, but I wouldn't be bother by it.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Exactly. I give up the guys clearly seeing what he wants to see and not what's written.

^ This is vibrant blue. This level of blue in an actual solid fabric will be recognised immediately in dark spaces. It's nonsense to wear this as Batman if you have any desire to conceal yourself in darkness.

Now if you take this blue as a REFLECTION of light, then I'm fine with it. And I'd say it's meant that way as well actually. But translating this to a fabric thats literally this colour like Vintijj said, yeah that's where I don't buy it anymore.
