Thanks to CR Superman was # 1 in the hearts of people while Batman took a back seat until 89.

Reviving Superman post CR has been a disaster so far, Pa Kent's Wizard of Oz delusions come to mind when I think of Superman today.

I blame George Reeve for the confusion on Christopher Reeves' name misspelling.

I forgot about Spidey. I used to rank him behind Batman and while I have no interest in the X-Men, I'd have put them ahead of the rest of Marvel in popularity. But with the atrocity that was SM3 and the stupidity that was ASM, the character totally slipped my mind. I think the Avengers are all more popular today than Spidey. The X-Men movies seem to be hit and miss. I never see kids talking about them or pretending to be them at recess these days. Batman and the Avengers? Lunchboxes, back packs, folders, and imaginative playtime all around.
