Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I'd like to see a version where Superman wears glasses as his disguise, and everyone knows Clark Kent's Superman, but nobody ever talks about it because they're afraid he'll shoot laser beams at them from space.:lol

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I honestly can't believe that after all of these years they still haven't found a better disguise for him. Either Superman needed a mask, Clark needed a more disguised appearance, or Superman just needed to drop the secret identity thing all together. I mean the idea of having one is really to protect their loved ones from their enemies. How well has that ever worked out? How often is Lois in the middle of things? How many times did Mary Jane get kidnapped before she new Peter was Spider-man? The secret identity thing never really seems to work out in the end regardless :lol

I think Batman's really the only one that has things right - just don't get attached to someone that can't take care of themselves. I mean his closest relationship in any kid of danger is Alfred, and he has proven himself fairly capable for his age (depending on the age being portrayed). Sure bad things have happened to people he's cared about, but he's not constantly saving his helpless reporter girlfriend that just won't stay out of trouble or anything like that.

I've just never been able to get over the fact of Superman's stupid disguise as Clark. I mean I think just about most people could recognize a major celebrity with a pair of glasses on. slouching or not.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

hopeman should wear his undies over his head. that would settle it once and for all. :lecture

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The are ways around it, the ways I described from the comics.

And it doesn't require 0 facial recognition, if you tell me you never failed to recognize someone because she/he weren't wearing their glasses you're lying.

If I haven't seen them in awhile maybe. When you have an ultra famous superhero with huge stature with the same bone structure, the first people to notice would have been his fellow journalists who spend more time than usual sifting through Superman photos and rubbing elbows with Clark. It's a separate fiction in and of itself which at this point is comedy of people with... low visual processing. :lol :wink1:

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Low visual processing in this case comes in the form of not being able to imagine how much can someone change with such measures like the ones Clark takes to the point of being an unremarkable person. :wink1:

Please....Frank is right, it would require absolutely zero facial recognition skills.

Sure, maybe someone who meets him ONCE will not put together the connection, but people that are around him everyday would surely at least become suspicious.

Don't just the rest of the world by your ****** standards.

You think that throwing on a pair of glasses, tripping into things and wearing a suit too big would fool people....yeahhh, never get a job in the intelligence field. Maybe the cheerleading field instead.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I hope he didn't put that together while still being confused by Clark's glasses.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

That's hilarious! I hate that art for Superman! It creeps me out! That's a face you won't forget!

I think it had to do with the art being so simple originally, and so many were drawn alike. I hate Superman pre-crisis, so I don't really know. It probably was his everything goes perfect for him wink power.

I just try to delude myself, so I can enjoy the character, because I agree with you guys. I really hope they do something interesting with it to fix that issue as well. That's why I said Lois didn't work for me, since she was the only one up close to Superman. Superman wouldn't allow any pictures, and would vibrate, so people wouldn't get a good visual on his face, except for Lois when John Bryne wrote him. He knew just a simple attitude change wouldn't work. Being that a lot of people clearly saw him as Superman in Man of Steel, people are going to know who he is. They could probably keep the attitude change/dweeb look to cover him for 3 movies, if the people that saw his face don't get a good look at Clark Kent. Metropolis is the "City of Tomorrow," so everything is go go go, and getting a good look at a random guy isn't going to be a priority, let alone a dweeb. Superman helps when it's absolutely necessary, so you're going to be more focused on your life, or people in danger, and if anything seeing the "ridiculous" costume. These movies are only so long.

@Devil666 lolz achieved

Are people REALLY defending the clark spectacles thing... Really?

Come. The ****. On.

I bet the ****ing milkmen stopping by at Ma Kent's farm and seeing Clark inside can put two and two together when he sees a descent bootleg picture of superman.

The thing people underestimate is you don't need to recognise him. You need to recognise SOMETHING that will make you wanna look into it. And as soon as anybody actually starts RESEARCHING the two? You really don't have to bee Sherlock to figure it out.

All it takes is one person with a little bit of curiosity in him/her that goes 'Hmpf... where does that guy remind me off...?' It'll gnaw at that person inception style.

Now multiply that by the thousands who will probably see both clarke and superman in real life or picture form.

Sorry, really, the spectacle disguise thing is for 5-year olds. Thank GOD Snyder at least took that away with Pete, Lois and probably Perry. And they've said there will be more in and out of smallville who know who he is. That mitigates this unbelievably childish BS from the comics at least somewhat.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The fat kid on the bus totally recognized him later at IHOP.

Fat Bus Bully is smarter than the U.S. Government who can take pictures with drones and use facial recognition with computer databases. :lol

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I'm just trying to explain what I thought the reasoning was. I want it to be changed, but just carry the same message.

If anyone has ever taken care of a baby or a young child, you know what it's like to be Superman. You have to do a lot of embarrassing things in public, whether it is to make them happy or to help them develop skills. A lot of times you have to make yourself appear far weaker to boost their confidence. Sometimes you have to discipline them, perhaps by giving them a smack, and it's painful for you, because you don't want to cause them pain, but you have to. There are times when you might want to defend your child or fight someone, while they are in your presence, and you have to show restraint, and allow your pride to be hurt to teach them good morals. Superman does this every second, and that's why I like him. That disguise aspect isn't realistic, but to me, that's not the point. I'm not going to let that ruin great stories for me. That's why I only really care about the John Bryne stuff and some of the Animated Series. Darkseid and Lex Luthor are the only characters I enjoy fight-wise, because they have an interesting dynamic with Superman- God vs God and Man vs God. I don't find that part interesting in Superhero stories, except for characters that don't have powers.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

That disguise is been broken for a while now ink. It makes no sense.

Oh You mean the Drone that Superman destroyed at the end of Man Of Steel?

He grew up with Clark though, and CK saved his life. Of course he's going to recognize Clark flying around. How in the **** would the Government know who Superman/Clark Kent is? :lol
