D...DONT TOUCH ME THERE..mmMKAY!

Um, how do you guys(enviro proponenents) collect SS stuff and not realize what country they were made from?

Just curious.

I don't hate oil. I just think with the right effort there are a better means to an end fuel wise. For me I prefer to find options that are good for all life on this planet. Not just myself.

You're so noble....

Because wind towers don't disrupt natural habitats. And mining for silicone doesn't disrupt natural habitats. What else is there, hydro? Yeah, dams are completely innocuous. Again, how about nuclear? Probably the cleanest and least disruptive (not to mention cheapest) but clearly not an option.

Don't ask. You'll just reveal yourself to be an amoral philistine who kills puppies by the truckload.

Amoral? Yes. Maybe. Sometimes. Depends.
Philistine? I don't know and I couldn't care less...
Kill puppies by the truckload? Oooh, I love fur!

See? That's where common sense will get you. Next thing you know, you're a cold blooded puppy killer.

Josh should put you on ignore.

Isn't oil made of dead fossil which is like, we'll be in gajillion years!?:lol

I don't know, the way I look at it is we're all parasites(humans, animals, etc.) and this "global climate change" thing is mother nature's way of culling the weak, the useless blah blah! Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think global warming has nothing to do with us whatsoever. We're not causing it and we're not being purged. It's just old fashioned astrophysics and has more to do with the sun than anything else.

The rest is just moralizing...not a whole lot different than people blaming homosexuals for AIDS.

Dude, it was a monkey that started it all! It almost killed Dustin Hoffman's wife!:lecture

:lol

Anyhoo, I'm going to bed. Here, a parting gift to all who are interested.:wave

ERCOT, which overseers power supplies in Texas, has asked electrical companies to institute "rotating outages" to compensate for increased demands for electricity during the wintery cold snap gripping the state.

One of these rotating outages happened today while my wife and I were coming into work. We were on the elevator when the power went out. :horror

I pressed the CALL button and the guy told me to try and press the door open button for 5-10 seconds. Luckily the power went out right when we were at my wife's floor and the doors opened when I did this. We were able to get out and I just walked up the rest of the way. :panic:

Starting the dig out. Snow plows are having a hard time in the residential areas. I have a terraced garden area in my back yard and the snow drifts are so deep that you cannot tell there are any terraces. Hubby and I went out late yesterday afternoon to clear some of the snow in the driveway. Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to get the cars out of the garage without at least 3-4 hours of hard-core shovelling today. An hour later, you could barely tell there was any clearing done. Nasty stuff. Truly a snowmageddon.

Thanks, Josh. You, too! :duff

We actually have some precipitation forecast for the area Thursday night/Friday morning, so I'm hoping for a day off.

Thank ya sir!

A day off is always nice. Hopefully its nothing bad. We actually have more snow moving in this weekend. Last I heard it was supposed to be 3-4 inches on top of what we already have.

Yeah, just got dug out ourselves. It sucked bad. Yesterday, I went out a couple times and shortly after you couldn't tell anything was done. This reminds me why I need to figure out a way to get myself to warmer climates.
