Best Movie of 2009?
WTF.
Salvation definitely makes my worse list and Harry Potter makes my best list...not the worst or the best of the year but they are on their respective lists.
I hate that. I do the same thing. I hated The Final Destination but have to get it to finish the set.
I know I know.No no no don't waste shelf space on that pile of crap i've told you before.
I guess it's all about expectations. I didn't have any going into Salvation and was pleasantly surprised. However, with HP and with everyone who has read the books, there's a pre-built in expectation. You may think Salvation is terrible, but at least it didn't screw up a great novel. If there was no book i.e. no reference material - I probably would have enjoyed the movie. I know cuts have to be made and that there has been a steady progression of degrading quality of the films, but I found the resemblance of HBP to the book abysmally lacking. The series, slowly but surely, seems to have turned into a money grab. Everyone is vested, so appeasing the audience isn't as important anymore. Frankly, I don't think JK even cares what goes on the screen or even takes part in the adaptation.
Ouch. Salvation was my favorite thing to come out this year. Well, that, and Frost/Nixon.At least HP had a story, even if It was a hacked version of the book it made a lot more sense than that piece of crap Salvation.
I hope McG dies in a fire.
Yea I agree it did screw up a great novel to a point....BUT to my point Salvation screwed up Camerons legacy even more than T3...that is why I will HATE Salvation forever...and T3 but I like T3 better than Salvation. Cameron built an amazing story and universe and douchy McDouche ****** McG came along and thought he would be cool.
Epic
Fail
Ok lets agree to disagree now.
Best (so far): Inglourious Basterds!
Worst: ...???? (Well, Slumdog Millionaire came in theatres over here in 2009, so does that count? That movie was totally overrated, predictable and boring...)
I couldn't stand T3 either...there, we agree
You should check out a thread on Salvation (with the inlcusion of all the Terminator movies on AVS I think, could be Bluray.com). Anyways, those guys break down every film and the storylines. I think they came to the conclusion that everything after the first movie isn't plausible based on the storyline. It was too much for me, but parts were interesting.
I am thinking the same thing.I wonder how many Avatards are going to flood this thread in a few days.

What do you call the opposite of an Avatard? There are going to be just as many of those.
I think being a neutral realist is impossible in this case, though, for everyone's sake, I will try (not that I haven't been already).
Yep. Same here.If I end up seeing it, I will go in with an open mind. I'm anti-Avatard, not anti-Avatar.

Avatar is the bestest movie of all time! For reals! Super awesome because like everyone is blue and its on a different planet and the guy on TV tolds me how awesome it was. I havent actually seen it yet...but BEST movie of EVERS!
Edit: Almost forgots. Second favorite movie ever is New Moon! cause like...it just came out and its fresh in my mind and everyone says its supers awesome on TV and i heard girls screaming, and I totally think its the bestest vampire movie like that was ever made cause it totally captured my teen angst in vampire form and if I was a vampire I would totally date hot chicks.
Jokes on you actually avatar was pretty amazig.
