It had to be said. :lecture

Speaking as someone with a degree in music composition, I love Howard Shores work and it is very distinctive in sound... but nothing compares to the Skywalker theme, Yoda's theme, Leia's theme, the love theme from ESB. Not to mention Duel of the Fates. I even believe I would take Yub Nub over any of the LOTR themes... maybe....

I can never forgive the ewoks. 11 damned years old, I can still remember being in the theatre and thinking "...the fark is this?"

Sadly I'll never know what it's like to see the old Star Wars in theaters. I do however know what it feels like to see the prequels and lotr in theaters.

Results are alot closer that i thought they'd be

It's about whati expected. Maybe a little closest but I'm not shocked to be honest. SW has 30+ years of being a major pop culture force and impacted many people with its story when they were kids. Lord of the Rings while having been around longer because of the books hasn't had a chance to make that impact. So while I think Lord of the Rings is by far the superior product I understand others aren't going to feel the same.

I had to vote LOTR. Even though I have seen these movies countless times, they still make me tear up and move me way more than SW ever did. I do really enjoy the original SW trilogy...but LOTR had elements that for me, take my breath away again and again.

that whole "eagle dropping the ring" argument is so completely retarded. I cannot believe anyone with half a brain would even try to argue for that.
it is like the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
The whole point of Frodo taking the ring was not being noticed. At All... that was the whole point of that. Imagine a gigantic eagle flying the ring.... I mean, really there is no way an eagle could have try to fly there and not get killed....:cuckoo:

Which clearly failed because before the first was even over, everybody was looking for a Hobbit with the ring. :lol

This thread failed, it should have been titled, which franchise has creepier fans?

I would disagree. Sauron's forces were looking for a hobbit but Frodo was able to sneak up all the way to the door step without being caught.

It would be more interesting to see which one would be chosen by people who have seen and liked both. Where I'm sure most LotR fans have seen Star Wars, I'm betting there's a lot of SW fans who haven't seen LotR, especially the younger ones.
