Star Wars wasn't slow! Actually, there was action from the start!

Star Wars is slow. The whole droids on Tatooine is slow. Obi Wan's introduction is slow. Rescuing the princess is slow. It pick up at Yavin - the last act of the movie, but overall, the film is slow. It's George's 3-second rule of editing that makes Star Wars seem faster.

WTF?
Why is this even close?
The STAR WARS Trilogy is 100 times better than LOTR!
I don't care how many Oscars were won, blah blah blah!
Better story in STAR WARS and it was told better!
Why didn't the eagles just fly the ring to Modor and let Frodo drop it in?

:mwaha :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha

I like Star Wars' slowness. It makes the movie great. Because the characters grow and it builds. Ya know, real hero's journey stuff.

Yeah, just like the Trade Federation conference and Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon meeting Jar Jar on Naboo.

GOOOOOD ****.

Niether. LOTR, while great movies, never did it for me.

Star Wars, while great movies, are now ruined forever.
I guess it's time for a LotR vs Star Wars vs Transformers trilogy poll.

Oh don't even get me started on plot holes in the Star Wars Trilogy. :lol

Given they were able to fight off the Nazgûl, what other means did Sauron have to fight them?

I'm sure Josh can explain things better than me. :lol

For one, flying an Eagle in there with Frodo would alert him and they would have Mt. Doom protected. The whole point was to sneak in.

And let's face it. Star Wars has a lot of plot holes that you can use logic on.

You love them for what they are...period. I love Star Wars, but LotR is just better all around for me.

I'm not denying there're plotholes in Star Wars. But the resolution isn't nearly as simplistic. :lol

If they dropped the ring using the eagle, there would be no movie. That is a stupid thing to say.

That being said, if they had a quest for the eagle, then did it that'd be better. :D

Wasn't that after the witch king, their leader, was killed? Pretty sure it was. Plus their main army had been wiped out, and it seemed like they were only using what they had left behind the black gate.

I don't think the eagles would have been able to make it all the way over there alone without being killed.

The only thing that bothers me is the ghost army. Why not just have them fight the entire battle FFS...they took the whole army out in a matter of seconds. :lol

because there would be no movie.

Why didn't someone just catch James Bond taking a dump, and kill him then?

Why didn't Darth Vader just stab Luke in his stupid face?

Why didn't Anakin just commit suicide?

Why didn't Loki just blow up the world?

Why didn't Ripley just stay home and not die?

Does no one want a movie any more? :lol
