Yeah yeah, it's always the producers fault :lol

HE walked from SM4, the reboot was inevitable.

You are kinda underestimating the power a producer wields in a picture (i.e the producer is the most powerful person on set, not the director). The producer get to dictate what picture he wants to make, not the director.

Originally, Venom wasn't even supposed to be in SM3. It is a Sandman story. Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin forced Raimi to include Venom in cause it's a fan favourite (Raimi has long gone on the record saying that he felt Venom is a very one dimensional villian).

I am glad he walks from SM4 cause the moment the forced the Vultress to the storyline (I think to be played by Anne Hathaway at one point) it really got full retard.

He could've walked when he realised how convoluted SM3 was becoming during filming but he stuck with it, i'd never lend my work to something i knew was going to be bad, he is as much as fault. The dancing was 100% him, afterall Pete had a goofy dance-strut in SM2 thankfully not as bad.

It's the equivalent of comparing LOTR to harry potter

I don't know about that.

Besides Lord of the Rings > HP > Spider-Man (by just a sliver) > Nolan's Batman

maybe they were either irony votes or Avengers fans votes.

Nope I just enjoy the Spidey films a little more from top to bottom.

Its what kinda made me sick of the whole thing in the end, too much overhype. Same thing with Iron Man, just sick of seeing him, too much glorification over an okay character.

For you he's an okay character but you have no problems ranting about Iron Man or the Avengers in any thread because what you deem more important isn't getting any love.

Well the poll is going well for Spidey huh :lol

Did you really think it would?:dunno

I'm not much of a comic fan, but even I had to click on this thread to see if it was a serious discussion.

IMO, these two trilogies can't even be compared. Nolan's Batman isn't just a great trilogy, they are great cinematic pieces of art. Nolan has a talent very few people in Hollywood have.

If you haven't seen Memento, go watch it. If you have seen it, go watch it again. His brilliance is amazing in that movie. Inception is one of the most imaginary pieces of storytelling I have seen in a long time. Yes, he might have borrowed pieces from here and there, but he crafted it together perfectly.

Sorry, Raimi doesn't even come close. Therefore, Spider-Man has to take a back seat to Batman.

Considering they are 2 trilogies that try to appeal to an audience in very different ways from eachother I find it hard to choose one. Depends on my mood. If I feel like something more fantastical and light I'd go for the Spiderman films, if I want 'realism' and character studies I'll go for the Batmans.
Agreed - that's how I feel pretty much. :)

They both suck.

I'm sick of hearing about them in every thread. Spider-Man this, Batman that, Nolan, Nolan, Nolan. They can all suck it.

You're all worthless nerds stuck on a single obsession.

Close thread.

Eat ****.

You spend too much on toys.

Never happy.

Argue too much.
Your words are like a cold shower mate - well said. :lecture :lol

I guess it's no surprise then, that I didn't vote - funny read so far though. :lol

Nope, he's just a boring character, okay in small doses until his novelty wears off. With only two decent supporting characters, (WM and Rescue) and lame villains there's not a whole lot there excelt the armour. Doubly so when people try to make him seem better than he is.

Cap and Thor are far superior characters with better villains and supporting characters, but for some reason come second to him :cuckoo:

Btw: check current events, i haven't discussed avengers in ages

:peace

Others share your opinion no doubt but you have no problem spouting it as gospel. For some of us Iron Man is pretty awesome and we look forward to more of his adventures. So I get what you're saying but you act as if what you say is THE truth.

That's right you're still upset we're killing red coats. :lol j/k

Fair enough, it's simply my opinion that he's overhyped and overexposed, Batman i can understand as he has depth! Iron man not so much, but i hear Resuce whom i love may be in IM3 so i'd watch it for her.

And :lol that game is the second next i'm buying.

Peter David stated in a recent article that Nolan had written Bruce to die in the explosion but WB veto'd it. So the whining about Bruce living happily ever after can at least stop being directed at Nolan. He was going to have him be Batman to his very last breath, not retire.

And honestly the whole "Batman quit, Batman cried, Spider-Man is emo and quit!" is about the dumbest criticism I've heard of a film and nothing I've ever come across outside of this website. Chastizing films because the hero loses his fight, gives up and then is inspired to come back with a vengeance, or lives happily ever after after saving the day. Yeah like a thousand different films haven't employed those themes across all genres. But many here get just as emo if their superheroes don't punch, punch, punch for 120 minutes without any inner turmoil at all.

Go watch Punisher: Warzone every other day and leave the real films to the grownups.
