Damn Asta! Well done.
All this is just in-universe excuses for having more laser sword people when there shouldn't be any. Every single new piece of SW media cannot resist having laser sword people even though there was supposed to be decades without any at all. Obi-Was a weird hermit and Yoda was in a swamp tree house. Now there's official Imperial laser sword people, Ezra and Kanan, Ashoka, Ventress, the Mando weirdos and their laser sword, and more I'm sure I'm forgetting. Why exactly were Obi-Wan and Yoda in hiding again? Cause everyone and their sister is still running around getting in lightsaber fights.Inquisitors aren't Sith because they have no power, they're nothing but disposable pawns for Vader and Sidious.
If you want to say that the rule of two is being broken then you have to apply that to the old EU too, because that had Dark Jedi who followed the sith but weren't Sith themselves.
The rule of two doesn't automatically stop other dark side users from exisiting.
It’s so bad that Ahsoka is never even mentioned in the PT yet Filoni has the fans eating out of the palm of his hands that her relationship with Anakin was everything to him AND the word Mandalorian isn’t even mentioned ONCE in all of the PT yet here we are smack in the middle of a major Mandalorian, Empire, Jedi conflict and Madalore was ruled by a JediAll this is just in-universe excuses for having more laser sword people when there shouldn't be any. Neither of those things are really relevant to the plot of ROTS though, you have to imagine the characters living and having conversations/experiences between scenes too, we don't see every waking moment in 2 hours. It’s so bad that Ahsoka is never even mentioned in ROTS yet Filoni has the fans eating out of the palm of his hands that her relationship with Anakin was everything to him AND the word Mandalorian isn’t even mentioned ONCE in all of the PT yet here we are smack in the middle of a major Mandalorian, Empire, Jedi conflict
Agreed on all of the above, including the Jawa. I know that these D+ shows always seem to be chalk full of them but they keep making them entertaining.I know we're talking about Hayley Atwell's chesticles now but if I may belatedly interject with my thoughts on the first two episodes....they were OK at best. The highlights for me have been
- Ewan-bi Wan,
- his hilarious Jawa contact
- Joel Edgerton's Uncle Owen, he nails that role, limited as it is
- The scenes on Alderaan with young Leia and the Organas. Leia's characterization seems authentic to me, her acting is fine, she's a child. Although with the screentime she's having (so far) the show is feeling perilously close to being aimed at actual children and I don't think it should be so I would want the third episode to wrap up her involvement.
On the one hand yeah you're totally right about ROTJ Obi-Wan's comments indicating that he and Yoda knew Vader was alive when they hid the kids but on the other hand it IS "ROTJ Obi-Wan" who we also know was lying through his teeth about even being aware of the existence of Leia at all when ESB had previously revealed that he clearly wasn't, lol.I feel bad for jumping on the hate bandwagon but yeah, not liking Reva. Just too try-hard as a villain. In fairness I'll spread that around and add that the Inquisitors overall suck. Stupid looking characters IMO. And if they are darkside Jedi why aren't they Sith? Is this some loophole to get around the rule of 2? Maybe the cartoons explained it, I didn't watch them.
Not sure how I feel about the fact Obi-Wan is only now learning that Anakin is alive. I guess it technically jibes with the end of ROTS where Obi-Wan leaves Anakin burning alive on that slope. And he doesn't witness Palpatine finding and rescuing Anakin but I always thought Obi-wan would later sense through the force that Anakin was alive or that he'd be told as much by the Ghost of Qui-Gon or something. Furthermore there's a line in Return of the Jedi from the ghost of old Ben - ''to protect you both from the Emperor you were hidden from your father when you were born. The Emperor knew, as I did, if Anakin were to have any offspring, they would be a threat to him'' - they were hidden from their father - this strongly suggests the involved parties knew Anakin was alive at the time they separated Luke and Leia....right?
I think the zoom call contradiction can be forgiven if they just show older than dirt Sio Bibble in episode 6 saying:Agreed on all of the above, including the Jawa. I know that these D+ shows always seem to be chalk full of them but they keep making them entertaining.

I counted probably a good half a dozen continuity issues while watching Obi-Wan but I always try to come back to "is this any more egregious than continuity errors in OT?" And if the answer is no I try to let it slide. Some of them like the "Zoom call" that Obi-Wan receives can easily be rectified as long as that device ends up getting destroyed by the time the show ends. The PT already introduced planet to planet communication right in the first few minutes when Amidala received that transmission from Palpatine on Naboo all the way from Coruscant and it was repeated many times after (Sio Bibble contacting the ship on Tatooine, Obi-Wan sending broadcasts from Kamino and Geonosis, Palpatine chatting with Anakin on Mustafar and so on.)
Even today in the real world we have the capacity to make Zoom calls but if I take my laptop out into the desert and it eventually breaks and I can't replace it, well that's that. So I'm okay with Obi-Wan chatting with the Organas for now. Even if they don't show it getting broken I can just assume from ANH that it eventually did the same way I assume that R2's rockets must have stopped working at some point prior to the OT.
Obviously I could just clutch ANH and ESB and ignore all the questionable aspects and continuity errors introduced from ROTJ and onward which would be "a peaceful life," "but lonely" to echo Galen and Krennic. But there's too much fun to be had with the other stuff so as long as the good outweighs the bad then I'm usually able to enjoy it which is where I'm at with Obi-Wan and I can only assume that the best is yet to come with Anakin still due to appear.
I suppose I should say some nice things about the show. I'll agree on all of your points really.I know we're talking about Hayley Atwell's chesticles now but if I may belatedly interject with my thoughts on the first two episodes....they were OK at best. The highlights for me have been

/\GOOD SO FAR/\I suppose I should say some nice things about the show. I'll agree on all of your points really.
- Obvioulsy Ewan is great; he really sells the broken beaten down Obi-Wan. You can tell just by his body language that he's clearly something some kind of panic attack after learning that Anakin is still alive.
- Jawas are great, you love to hate the little *****. "Cleaning costs extra".
- Yeah, Joel does a great job with Owen, you can really feel that he is bitter towards the Jedi and the rest of the galaxy and just wants to live in peace with what little family he has left.
- I'm glad we're getting to see more of Alderaan, we've only really seen it a couple of times in canon and one of those times is it getting blown to pieces.
- Little Leia is great imo exactly how I'd expect a young Leia to act.
- The designs for the Inquisitors is growing on me a bit. Fifth Brother doesn't look quite as cool as his Rebels counterpart but still pretty good and Rupert Friend is doing a great job with the Grand Inquisitor performace
- Hobo clone meeting Hobo-Wan
I'll tell you after 4pm PST when I see it.I have not. Is it as good as the reviews seem to indicate?
