Freaked Out
Some final verbal diarrhoea to get out the rest of my thoughts and frustrations with this series below:
- I actually cannot believe how blatantly obvious it is now that Reva’s character was a diversity push from Disney after the culmination of her arc within this show. The fact that such a significant amount of screentime was given to her poorly acted, poorly written, POINTLESS character instead of Pre Clone Wars/Clone Wars, Satine, or even Qui-Gon flashbacks is a travesty. Kenobi training with force-ghost Qui-Gon to reconnect with the force is another example of wasted the potential with this show.
- Whilst I thought the actress for Leia was really good and I enjoyed her performance, I just felt like we again wasted time with her little sub-pot instead of actually seeing more Kenobi in the ‘Kenobi Show’!
- Tala was fantastic, loved her acting and sendoff with the droid. The dichotomy of acting talent when her scenes were back to back with Reva’s was hilarious.
- I am convinced this show was some kind of money-laundering operation for Disney because there is absolutely ZERO chance this was $25 million per episode or whatever it was. It genuinely was of such a poor quality sometimes the fan-film jokes cut way deeper than they should have. Why the hell did it look so low-budget??
I’m pretty certain I may just seclude myself now with the PT/OT, Clone Wars, Rebels, Rogue One, bits of Mando, and some of my favourite novels (Republic Commando, Plagueis, Thrawn) rerunning on an endless cycle and live out the rest of my days as a hermit. It’s a simple life, but I’m sure it’s a good one
