If it were made out of aluminum, that could do it for the weight issue and that could be why the price is so high. Aluminum costs a lot. I'm hoping it's metal and wood or I'll have to cancel.

Can't wait for the Samaritan II EX to ship!!

:horror:horror, thats a lot of $$££, althought this was too big for me anyway I was interested to see the price of it, don't think I expected $750 though.

It will make it more difficult for international customers though as it states:
Attention EU Customers: Even though this item is not available to ship from the EU Warehouse, you can still order it via our US warehouse. You may be responsible for additional shipping fees and/or import taxes.

...so I guess that will put off many International orders.
Delivery charges alone will be a few hundred $$, then add even more for customs :sick
I think the ES will be very small.
It does look awesome but i'm glad I'm not getting it

Big Baby (we haven't seen the stand yet, but there will be one)

Product weight: 30.00 lbs (13.61 kg)

Samaritan Hellboy 2
15" H (381mm) x 12" W (304.8mm) x 12" L (304.8mm)
Product weight: 27.00 lbs (12.25 kg)

Samaritan Hellboy 1
9" H (228.6mm) x 10" W (254mm) x 13" L (330.2mm)
Shipping weight: 10.00 lbs (4.54 kg)

My guess it wont be metal and wood unless the stand is very light and small (which I doubt for a 28 inch gun).
The weight for the metal/wood Samaritan is 10 lbs, according to the backstage video, which makes the stand around 17 lbs.
Big Baby is HUGE! and the product weight is slightely higher.

oh,and hell yeah!!
Can't wait for the Samaritan II EX to ship!!

I CAN'T WAIT EITHER

I just saw the new trailer. It only shoots from two barrels, what a ripoff ;)

Don't know if anyone else has noticed or posted it, but the "Big Baby" painting on the gun looks just like the baby from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. "I have a 50 year old's lust and a 3 year old's dinky".:lol

I ordered mine too, but my decision to keep it will depend on how awesome it is in the film.
I hear it's only used in one scene... =(

I can't imagine this piece appreciating in value in the future due to the current price already, especially a replica gun. We're talking about almost a 1K item....with no exclusive to it.

I can see Iron Man 1:1 bust hitting 1K mark, but not this piece.

Price was a bit higher than I expected.
Thought around $600...

Might have to get it tough. :) :monkey5

This is just a downright bad ass piece.
Of coarse the price tag is a bit off putting but what will help justify it is when the materials are revealed. They should push for high grade, hydro formed aluminum if possible. It's strength vs. weight ratio should be just right for the piece. Oh, & real wood is a given for the handle, other wise I would be pushed harder to pass just on that.

BTW, am I daft or is the display base not in the pictures on SS's site?

just now noticed the music box demo video on the product page ... too cool ... :monkey1

it's a cool prop but what i don't get is sideshow still hasn't decided on what materials they are using for the final product? like the wow diorama and ss not putting final paint production photos up, people don't want to lay down the bucks unless they know what they are getting. are the materials going to depend on how many are ordered? because at $750, they best be real metal and wood.

No one is laying down any bucks. I ordered it. They say polystone...I say cancel. Wouldn't be wise to order it on flex at this point though.

no one is laying down the bucks for the wow diorama, as the exclusive is still available to purchase. the point was obviously missed. will sideshow pull a wow with hellbaby and not let on exactly the materials used until it's shipping?
