I dont think its fair to generalize that all second chance merchandise is flawed or second rate. In most cases 2nd chance is the result of cancellations close to the ship date. Then they sit on those items for a little while to ensure replacement pieces as well as drum up interest. Nothing makes people want something more then a "sold out" tag. Then they put them up for second chance. I have bought many a statue on second chance and never had an issue.

Usually if the "second chance" stuff is flawed Sideshow does an Express Update and sell the goods at a reduced cost. Those pieces are returned statues or flawed pieces they couldnt sell out. Also, unless Sideshow discloses the damage up front and offeres a reduced price, they are always willing to give a refund when no replacements are available.

I was just about to say something about Express Update and they let u know upfront that there is a slight defect.

I'm fine with that as long as they disclose that something is wrong and sell it for less, thus letting u know what ur expecting or getting into.

The other option which I hope is not tru which I think Hulksmashed just convinced me that 2nd chance items are just that second chance from cancellations.

People, something like this will go for over $1000....NO PROBLEM. If you dont have anything close to that doller amount just to say "hello" your wasting your time in anticipation for it. Something like this will probably require some sort of non-refundable down payment also. Once it sells out the price for something like that will sky rocket, so hopes of getting it 2nd hand wont be doing your wallet a favour.

.......and if its 1:1....you'll have to sell the family minivan to get it.

Will it require a Non-Refundable deposit? Maybe, SSC is touch and go with those things. Could it be a $1000, it will all depend on who is involved. Sideshow's licensed 1:3 pieces aren't that expensive in comparison even if you move up cost due to natural rise in materials, etc you still could come under $1000. If its an actual Stan Winston Studios/Sideshow Collaboration it might be closer to $2000. The FlexPay option should be interesting to watch because it'll really be the option for most collectors.

If its 1:1 I guarantee you it'll hang out for quite some time and collectors will have the chance to save up. If its a 1:1 you'll see a lot of my stuff for sale and a lot of stuff canceled out because I know I'm not missing that.

On Chat. Its the Iron Man above in the Twitter pic but we were wrong on the size, its 1:2 scale not 1:3. I will own this but if there isn't an exclusive then I'll definitely go where I can find the best price even if its via eBay.

for an exclusive i'd like a switch out head with the visor flipped open so you see tony!

but they will probably make a mark 2 the exclusive

I want to share this pic which I captured it from my IM art book. The IM on the pic was the prototype created by Stan Winston Studio for the movie. It is just exactly the same to the one from TwitPic. Such prototype model also appears in the IM DVD/blue ray and it appears to be 1:2 scale. Same to many of you, I must buy it if it is truly released and hopefully it is not too heavy.

From DVD:
I quote my thread. I have said it should be 1:2 scale which appears in DVD and my anticipation is correct. In fact, there were hints at the "Ask SS" on 12 March, 22 April and 6 May suggesting that they will issue this 1:2 scale prop replica from SWS. Cheers:banana:banana:banana:chew:chew:chew
