I really agree with all that guys points. I love the game but he hit the nail on the head about the inclusion of vigors and the comparison to plasmids in rapture.

I have created an interest list for a custom Elizabeth figure here. If anyone is interested, pop on over and sign up.

Except there is a big differance and I can do this with virtually everything he complained about so I'd disagree bigtime with him.

Heres the differance : In Rapture plasmids are purely made as a drug to take for casual use. They have embraced Science to the point where there are no limits and they put too much trust in regular citizens who abuse and become addicted to the plasmids.

In Columbia, Fink steals vigors from Tennenbaum and Rapture by viewing them through the tears and they are designed to be used as tools for professionals in certain fields, not casual drugs for anyone.

Shock Jockey is designed to replace the electric company, devil's kiss is used by the fireman to fight fire with fire or light boilers and furnaces. They are all implemented for practical use rather than as a luxury alchoholic beverage.

Murder of crows is one of the first newer vigors offered to the public, (not by Fink) but again as a tool for self defence.

The regular citizens don't use or abuse these things the same way they don't employ skyhooks as a form of transportation. It's the more extreme pleasure seekers who start using the the matience skyhooks and thats what gives the police the idea to form the flying squad. This is why you don't bump into any regular people with powers aside from Slate who only takes the Shock Jockey when he finds out you want it.

In Rapture they reject religion and embrace science and mankind as there own "gods" even though Andrew Ryan would disagree with that and thats why Rapture ultimately falls.

In Columbia they embrace religion and the Prophet uses science against them by convincing them science is actually miracles he's performing. He's not having angelic visions, he's using Lutece's scientific knowlege to open tears and view the future that way.

What it comes down to is it seems all the people complaining missed alot, and I mean alot of information and plot elements, likely just run and gunning through in a few hours like this is a typical Call of Duty. I don't see how they couldn't have, the games been out about a week, I'm on my 3rd playthrough and still discovering small elements of information myself.

I see this as more art than game, which I'd probably only say about a handful of other games.

Great perspective! I think this is GAME of the YEAR so far.
I don't think alot of people will "get it" or see what is so special.
Especially if like you said, the few that just see a shooter and power their way through it, or not thinking deeply enough about the ending and whole story.

One issue I had with that is, don't tears look into other worlds / timelines?

I might have missed something, but I didn't think tears could look into the same world, especially not the future.

I think they can....I thought I remember reading or hearing something about how Comstock knew Booker would come for him....which is why he had all those posters up of the False Prophet with A.D. on his hand. He knew Booker would come for him....knew that Booker would kill him..which was all part of his prophecy. At least that was how I took it. Or maybe he just knew that from the 100+ times Booker had already been there....:dunno But it seemed he was talking about being able to see what Booker would do when they had their confrontation by the basin near the end of the game.

That is an excellent observation.

I also agree that this experience was more art than simply a video game. I think this game is an amazing accomplishment.

Yes you missed alot, they can indeed be used to see or travel into their own future. They can also be wishes, Elizabeth's thoughts made reality. Thus Chen-Lin, the revolution and quite possibly the existance of Rapture are all things created out of the need for convienace that end up having a residial ripple effect throughout the timelines. Comstocks already dying from viewing the tears so often, first rendered sterile and eventually riddled with tumors that are killing him.

You of course realise the Luteces aren't even alive on our astral plain I take it? They've been dead over a year at Comstock's hands and they use a machine similar to a telegraph with morse code to move the living (you) through the various tears until Liz comes along who can manipulate them herself.

Yeah, I got most of that on the first playthrough, and am picking up even more as I go along. But it's just been a matter of juggling a lot of the info and backstory they give, and sorting it all out.

Loved this game so much, I bought it again for PC.

It looks AMAZING. Didn't think it could look better, but it makes the PS3 version look BAD.

I'm not getting all the achievements on the PC version, already did that on PS3. Mostly just going to enjoy this beautiful, beautiful game one more time. This will be my 4th play through. Game Of The Year for me. The Last Of Us really has to move me like this game did, if it's getting that title.

If you accidentally open a Dollar Bill machine while on 1999 mode but don't buy anything does that screw up the achievement?

I think the Patriot will be my only figure purchase.

I love the Boys of Silence design, but wasn't blown away by the figure. And given the small amount of actual game time, I'll probably pass on him.

Things NECA need to make :

Booker Figure
Deluxe Handyman

Vigor Bottles

Plush Songbird just like the game's

Dollar Bill/Veni Vigor Bobbleheads

Pre orders are up for the motorized patriot on BBTS, looks like its an august release.

One of the toughest enemies you'll face in Bioshock Infinite, the Patriot is an automaton built in Columbia to the likeness of a major figure in American history.

This figure stands over 9" tall and features incredible detail, 2 interchangeable heads, a massive Pepper-Mill gatling gun, and 2 flags of Columbia on its back.

With over 20 points of articulation and massive in size and stature this figure is a must have for fans of Bioshock Infinite.
