Well, I got all the trophies for Infinite. After 3 playthroughs I want to play it again but I'm holding out until I get my new pc. 1999 mode was alot of fun, really makes you plan out every attack and is super rewarding.

How's the artbook? Mine will be coming next week.

It's not the 'reference guide' I hoped it would be. It's more along the lines of "This game took us 3 years to make, here's all of the sketches and preliminary images we made to help guide the process". The bulk of the book is stuff that was abandoned that you don't even see in the game.

The whole section on Elizabeth is just design ideas and just 'feelers' to help nail down her look. I understand that Elizabeth's look wasn't finalized until the game was almost finished, i.e. the NECA figure doesn't have the missing digit because at the time the figure was sculpted, she didn't have a missing digit. I was hoping there would be character renders and turnarounds, just so it would be easier for me to build my figure, so unfortunately it doesn't help me in that regard.

But overall, it's still an interesting look into the concepts and the design process. The coolest stuff is in the front of the book which shows their early concepts and what direction they were heading when they first started, which would've felt much closer to the original Bioshock. It would've looked like a sequel.

I really like the full page Columbia concept locations that Ben Lo did. Not all of them are in the book. There's some on his blog that I wish would've been included.

It smells nice. I like the smell of a crisp new hardcover book, it stings the nostrils.

So yeah, not a cash grab. ;)

Actually the figure DOES have a missing finger. I noticed it the day before the game's release and thought it was a factory fault, lol. No silver thimble on it, though.

Yeah, that's right. I just went back and checked their Twitter, I misread it.

I hadn't played through a video game in quite a while, but I picked this up this week and just finished it. Great game! It really focused as much on telling a story as it did on the fighting. They created a world that I'd like to visit--well, parts of it, I guess..

Saw this today

Working my way through 1999 mode now and I'm going for not using the dollar bill machines. Thankfully you can use the vigor and weapon upgrades but I'm saving most of my money for respawns. I can tell towards the end this is going to be rough.

Is that artbook different than the one that comes with the songbird edition of the game?

Apparently not, I don't have both, so I can't verify. But from reviews I read, the book included with the game is excerpted from the "Art of" book, so it would just be repeated content.

After beating the game, Booker's comment about

needing to get into the prophet business when Elizabeth mentions 50% tithes in the bank

is extra funny.

So what's the verdict so far on this game?
Compared to all the games you've played this year, PC or console, how do you feel about this game?

Game of year contender at least?

Game of the year, so far for me...with Tomb Raider a close second...then Dead Space 3.

Not just contender to me, but winner. Other devs will have to work their ***** off to top this game.
