Blade Runner 2049 (October 6th, 2017) *SPOILERS*

I know for me it was the amazing cast(Ford,Hauer and Hannah),Vangelis soundtrack,set pieces and the look of the dystopian future.
My girl had never seen the original until the week before 2049 came out..she's 35...and she liked 2049 more.

I was around 10 or so when I first saw BR and didn’t really appreciate it until a few years later. However I loved the production design and music in it, I think 2049 takes the cake in that department as well. BR is such a claustrophobic shot film. Every frame in that movie is so tightly shot that you actually don’t see much. I really loved the fact that they decided to give some breathing room to the sequences and cinematography. It really opened the whole movie up and made it a spectacle to watch.

Also, K>Deckard IMO. Performances and all.

Yeah, I really liked 2049, but the original is still the best for me. Something more gripping (rules of the world felt more clearly defined) and dangerous in BR1 - some great villains too. 2049 was a little light in the villainy dept.

huh, I really liked Luv and Wallace, I thought they were great villains. More interesting than Tyrell IMO. Batty will always be great though.

If anything HAD to be seen on the big screen it was this. You really missed out.

I really did, some of the shots blew me away in front of my TV, I’m sure it looked spectacular.

I watched it yesterday. I was surprised to hear John William's Superman theme, and the 89 Batman theme make an appearance.
They always surprise us, even if only a little.

Yep. It's truly one of my favorite films and it came out mere months ago. But the first time I saw it, I could have immediately watched it again. It had me gripped the entire time and you can't beat seeing this in a theater. 2049 took everything I loved about the original and expanded on them. This already for me is a desert island movie.

I can't wait to re watch it again with the PlayStation VR. The resolution isn't nearly as good as it would be on a TV, but being able to watch it on a movie theater size screen and in 3D will be awesome. I ordered the HMV steelbook.

Is it? I seem to recall it being pretty much just me, kara, and JAWS as being on the (correct) side of preferring T1 in those debates from years back.

Maybe if we went to the polls again it'd still be T2 and Aliens but as far as the viewpoints getting expressed in words I think it's more often in favour of T1 and Alien.

That did poorly at the box office. So quality means nothing- the audience are kids and young adults who want there superhero or comedy flicks forgettable and assembly line. Shame. Great films like this have less and less reasons to be made in the studio's eyes.

Yes it's mindboggling that this film got the budget and care that it did and I'm sure WB is kicking themselves for doing it but their admirable loss will forever be our gain.
