Got to play about an hour this evening. Went with Zero because his Deception sounds pretty cool - especially the last power he gets where he can do a Deception string.

I liked the character intro - great cinematics. Claptrap steals the show immediately with his comedy and the game gets right into it with a mini-boss fight. I was surprised my character didn't start with a sniper rifle; instead the best I have is a low-level pistol, shotgun, and assault rifle. My two favorite weapons - sniper rifle and SMG have yet to be seen. (In Borderlands 1, I used to like rocking out with a Caustic SMG - shoot, poison, hide, and let them die out on their own. Plus, SMGs were great for Crimson shield-bearers)

Protip: Don't be afraid to get in close with the Bollymongs. You can just side-step their thrown rocks and pop them with the pistol on zoom-in burst fire.

I went Commando. I figured more people would be using the other classes and his skill tree is pretty good. Played a few hours with strangers. Not great, but still more fun than playing solo. Im a level 13 now.

Seems like the Soldier class is always the most popular. Played Roland in my initial playthrough in game 1 and it was fun, so I see it.For this game, wanted a new class, and I am glad I did go with the Gunzerker class this time - its a lot of fun.

Can't wait to try out the Mechromancer class or whatnot when it hits next month

Soldier is a great starter class, but for me with the game being so similiar to BL1, I felt I could still play the Zero sniper effectively.

That's another thing I liked about BL1 is that I didn't feel like I was at a distinct disadvantage from playing a certain class. For example, playing a straight Mage in Skyrim is alot otugher than playing a straight Tank - I would not recommend someone new playing that Mage for their first character. Here in BL1 and BL2 the character classes are more new-to-the-game friendly.

Ok, playing on 360 and encountering my first real glitch. There is a 'Slaughter Dome' area of the game - similar to BL1 - survive 3 waves of baddies

Well have tried wave 1 many times, and once I kill all the baddies, it just hangs up without going to wave 2. This is seemingly a known issue according to Gearbox forums, so just a heads up

Playing online, I saw a decent mix. Commando doesnt seem to be any more used than any other class..at least that was my impression after seeing 10 or 12 players.

Ok, solution to the Slaughter Dome area - not to be confused with the gamestop exclusive one - Once you enter and start the section, you will see the circumference zone on your mini map

As long as the baddies all die within that zone, the level will play out normally. However, if even one baddie dies outside that zone - and part of the level is definitely outside it, the level will basically become stuck, No baddies spawn and no end of the level. Its an annoying glitch

There are 5 waves and boy, level 5 is rough

For those into these levels and the Gamestop one later - I have yet to get to it - I'd love to play with some of the Freaks here...My Gunzerker is level 21 now and DAMN...he's a badass

Played 4hrs split screen co-op with my brother last night.

Gunzerker and Siren.

Awesome.

Currently, Lv4 with my new sniper rifle going after Midge-Mong.

I notice that the enemies are alot more clever this time around. They dodge around alot more - especially the Psychos, use terrain and cover better, and seem to stay in position more - rather than just run at me shooting away.

I'm getting tired of finding pistols, though.

And who said the PC gaming world was dying? LOL - its better than ever.

Up to level 24 with my Gunzerker class. Did the 3 missions in the Caustic Caverns and it is ROUGH at first. There are a lot of indigenous wildlife types. Also in this area you will find
the Minecraft section complete with their creatures. Got my very 1st legendary weapon there but no minecraft head for customization!

I'm seeing way more Siren class than anything else. A lot of Assassin class too. No biggie... just an observation. I expected more Gunzerkers.

Can't decide between Zero and the Gunzerker :gah:

I had the same dilemma. I chose the assassin when I started playing Tuesday night and got to level 10, but decided to start over with the gunzerker. I just played the first Borderlands through most of July and August, using the hunter, and the assassin felt too much like the same character but with a different look and skill.

loved the game beat the storyline tonight, completed alot of the sidequests but i have about 25 or 30 left after everything is done im still trying to get to level 50 soon which im leveling pretty steadily im level 29 now. Working towards getting the strongest legendary weapon in the game.

How long did it take you to beat the game? I usually like to drag these games out, so the more time the better for me.
