Re: No love for Breaking Bad?

So Breaking Bad is the best show ever already!? Its near the top but give it a few years after the hype settles, then we'll see where it stands. I don't think it'll be No. 1

Has nothing to do with hype. The characters were good. If you wanna go there. I'd like to see walking dead be remembered in a couple of years. It'll be buried under all the other zombie media that comes out.

Re: No love for Breaking Bad?

Its got everything to do with hype as BrBa just ended?? So everyone is talking about it right now. Its in the public conscious right now. In a few years after its been on the shelf I'd like to see how it stacks up againt the other greats..I think it'll still be up near the top but I don't know if it'll stay the BEST show ever as a lot of people on here are saying. And no I'm not suggesting TWD will even be in the top 20...its not

No Walking Dead is cheap generic food.

Say what you will, but you are downright wrong when you say The Walking Dead is generic. It has a very distinct filmic style compared to almost every other show on television. Generic is not the right word. That's not opinion, it's fact.

Now, Justified on the other hand...

It's pretty generic. Breaking Bad has a style. Walking Dead is all over the place. It's cinematic...but in a generic sense of the word.

Breaking Bad has this great little trick you may or may not have noticed, where 80% of the dialoge is covered with a close up, or medium shot, then mid way through the discussion, it cuts to a SUPER wide angle of the environment. It's a very cool way of showing exposition, while showing the exact place a character is.

Plus, the montages. I mean Walking Dead is a better looking show then say, Agents of Shield, or any network show....but eh. Eastbound and Down actually has a better, more distinct visual style then TWD does.

I just finished watching the series, and I do think this is up there with some of the best TV shows I've ever seen. I'm not sure it beats the Wire, but definitely the best show I've seen since then. Phenomenal work the guys at AMC did on it.
