Quick! Someone make Avatar 2 before he does! Maybe we can try and taint this series so he can do the same!

When Avatar was released I saw him in a live interview where the interviewer asked him if he'd ever revisit Terminator. Cameron basically said that he's bitter that other people have "pissed in" his story and that due to the existence of T3, TS and the TV show the whole franchise is tainted for him now and he'll never touch it again.

Why can't he just disregard all the other Terminator entries like most of us do?
And Ridley Scott went back to the Alien universe after a bunch of other people had made films in it, Cameron included.

Just, gawdammit. There is just one, one more Terminator film worth making and it seems like no ones ever gonna ****in' make it.

Terminator is dead. There is no story any more. I honestly couldn't think of one. It NEEDS to have Arnold, and he's too old.

I know he's going to be in this new movie, which is basically a remake to Back to the Future....I **** you not.

Terminator is dead, and rightfully so. TS proved there can never be another Terminator movie again.

When i heard this news about 2-4 being made atfirst i was like uhhh, But then i thought about it, and IMO this is actually a great Idea.

First off, Cameron is one of my fav directos and I loved Avatar. T2 on a good day is prob my fav movie..But anyway think about it this way. Avatar 1 is like the foundation, its a "Classic" story (stranger in a strange land) with at the time state of the art effects and just an event. In my humble opinon, the movie stands on its own, you dont need to make another one, plus its been so long, it wouldnt feel like a true sequel.

But the fact there attempting a new TRILOGY of films is cool to me because hes recruiting new and different writers, probly going to do some radical effects and make it a event but it will most likely be connected if they plan to realse them closely together.

I know Cameron said its not a "Trilogy" per say and bla bla bla but what he says about these movie changes every 6 months so im just going with what I think.

The point is i feel like it makes the first film still stand on its own and still be special, atleast in my Eyes. Almost like this is the Adventures of Avatar.

I'm very interested in the sequel and hated the first one. I honestly believe the first movie was such a complete rip off of other stories. There is no question. The sequel should be original. I like the world and the effects. So I'm hoping he is done stealing ideas. :lol

But Ridley did his little "this isnt an Alien prequel exactly" thing so i see exactly what your saying but that was his way around that.

I see massive amounts of potential in a prequel but Cameron doesnt need to make it, it would take a taltented filmmaker who knows the Genre, who knows, time will tell!

I remember Cameron said he ended the series in 2 because he thoughts thats all it had, BUT Then he did the T23D ride (THATS AWESOME!!!:exactly:) and said this could potentially lead to a 3rd film, then i guess he figured it wasnt worth it, then they made the 3rd abomination.

Kind of how I feel. And for as great as people make the visual FX sound. I really didn't think it looked more realistic than other big budget films. He just spent more creating a whole world I suppose. I enjoyed Avatar through the first watch, but can't watch it anymore.

Story was weak...blah blah blah.
Nerds are never happy.

We can all name MANY movies where the story was weak (cough Pac Rim) that we still enjoy because they are fun, have cool CGI, or whatever.

I think the hate for Avatar is a bit extreme. It was a solid adventure, fun, action filled, some of the best 3D EVER, some of the best CGI to date at the time.

If you really dig deep enough, every movie is somewhat based off something else or another story, or premise that has been done before.

Bring on more Avatar. Cause I like cool looking SH IT.

Agreed with all of Celtic's GIFs. This is ridiculous, why 4 Avatar films from Cameron but only 2 Terminators? Why is he determined to fixate on this one so much?

He could have done a 'prequel' to The Terminator and showed the 2029 war with the machines that led to the discovery of the time displacement equipment. And he could have done it when Michael Biehn and Arnie were still reasonably....not old looking.

I liked Avatar but...3 ****ing more?

Because it's called PASSION. He loves this world, and wants to explore it and film it and put his VISION on screen.

You don't like it? Don't see it.
But odds are, you'll be in line like everyone else...:wink1:

I am interested in see neytiri again. I'm not ashamed to say i'd climb that and proceed to hit it.

If Avatar was hated by so many why is it ALL TIME BOX OFFICE CHAMP...because it was loved by the masses Just like Star Wars I,II,III...that's it, Fact:lecture

The hype probably didn't help... but man Avatar was a huge disappointment. I'd rather he made True Lies 2 :rock

The masses were enamored with it in 2009/10. That doesn't mean they're still enamored with it and will be as late as 2016. I saw it three times in the theater but haven't had any inclination to pop the blu-ray in the player for a couple of years now.

If I want a Cameron fix I default to ALIENS.
