Also, should I hate on Marvel, because they keep making movies with the same dudes over and over. Should I hate on Avengers 2, because there was already an Avengers 1? No. I'm going to see them and try to enjoy them, just as I will the next Avatar.

Not sure if you're joking, but this is just plain stupid.

I don't for one second believe that Cameron is really "passionate" about Pandora or these characters. If that were the case the movie would've had at least a modicum of depth.

He's sure passionate about the technology and the success and attention he gets from these movies, though.

He doesn't owe anyone jack ****, though it'd be cool if he made more "honest" movies again. And it sure would be nice if he wasn't such an insufferably arrogant prick.

I don't hate Cameron. I just hate Avatar and it's super creepy MLP esq cult fans.

I'm with you guys on the above, though. I can't stand his speech on pushing the envelope and it pushing back. Overplayed so many times on TV and the internet as if it marked the second coming of Jesus.

It and along with the rednecks in the audience, and the gunho republican attitude, the whole scene is meant to make you hate everything about those characters, and feel bad for the peace loving tree people.

Avatar was pretty. That's it. The story isn't that great, and it didn't deserve the hype it got.

It's a fun movie. But the cultish crap that followed made it completely unwatchable.

Thread officially derailed!!! Funny stuff. Avatar was a helluva lot of fun, 'recycled' plot included........Cameron is like a less sucktacular version of george lucas. Both care about making **** pretty, but at least with Cameron, you are gonna have just enough in the movie to keep the audience engaged enough - at least for me. With Star Wars prequels, the FX were a distraction; Avatar they were the main attraction. Thus the hype. That, and 8ft high blue side boobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
