According to this article "Avatar" is basically China's "1977 Star Wars" (they did rename an entire mountain in Avatar's honor after all) and that the sequel might very well earn between 1 and 1.5 billion in that country alone.

(Not really, but I do find most of Avatar to be a bit of a bore these days. Sweet final battle though.)

at least avatar was entertaining and colorful and an adventure movie with really good effects.

ALIENS is getting a 30th anniversary showing October 7th and 8th here.

I've a chance to see Aliens with a live orchestra doing the music on the 23/24 september. Tickets are expensive enough though, the lowest I see is almost 40euro.

It seems like that'd be a weird way to hear a movie. Dialogue and sound effects over speakers but music is live? Or does the orchestra just play along with the film's soundtrack and try to stay in sync note for note?
