Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Unfortunately your right about the flag thing but at this point I'm just done with the anti american ____, Bush is an _______, alot of stupid fat ____ing people live here, I get it. You think America sucks, well your coutry is likely just as stupid.

After 9-11, we always heard the Spiderman was in front of an American flag thing. Well you know what, he lives in America. And on top of tall American buildings sometimes are big ____ing American flags.

And in WW2, America played a big role. Oh hell, I'll just say it, were the reason the allies won. There it is, not the only reason, but if we hadn't gotten involved who knows how things would have gone. WW2 is also alot of the reason the rest of the world looked at us as a heroic productive nation for some time after. Apparently thats something to be ashamed of in 2011.

If I made this movie it would end with Cap personally having shoved the American flag into Hitler's ass hole in graphic detail and then turned to the camera, winked and gave the audience the finger.

Gotta be honest, dont know that I'd want to see that. lol.
But I would like to see alot of goose steppers get a face full of caps shield. I'd also like to see Cap use a thompson in his off shield hand.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Adam Sandler is more of a patriot then Captain America in my book.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Have you seen those Hitler parodies on You Tube?
I'd like to see one where Hitler is told theres no nazi's in the new Capt. America movie and have him blow a fuse.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Like I said, I don't know much about Captain America but, I thought this preview looked great.

The only thing missing were the foot soldiers of a Jew-hatin', mass murderin' maniac that need to be dee-stroyed. Not "Hydras", whatever the hell those are.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

I was really looking forward to seeing Cap punch Hitler like the comic book cover. Very disappointed that won't be happening.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Has something changed since Joe Johnston said that Red Skull is about to face off against some Nazis right after that pic of him holding the cube (they are coming to collect it for Hitler, if I remember correctly)?

Also, Spielberg never said he wouldn't use Nazis again. He said that after Schindler's List he would not use them as exaggerated, "cartoon" villains in lighthearted fare.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Wow...
a thread about a comic book movie turning into a political thread?... :lol!!

Nah not really, its related enough, just a big wtf that a guy named Captain America doesn't seem to really like America (given Joe's statement about Stark helping him make his own suit since he feels like a whore in the regular one apparently) and fights a fictional organization.

Unfortunately however the reason the movie is going to suffer is politics.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

It's a comic book movie not non fiction depiction of history. I don't mind whatever adjustments long as the story is sound. Would I prefer it being closer to the source material sure but not a big deal for a comic film.

The tv spot had good n bad points, I cannot wait for the full trailer.

I never took him not liking the suit as something to do with America. Why would he keep the red and blue with the star if that is the case? I always took it as th fact that outside of comics guys usually don't run around in bright primary colored tights.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

I agree with Deckard. It's not called Captian International. :lol

I have to find the exact quote, but it was something along the lines of Stark helping him develop his own version because he thought the American version of the uniform supplied for him felt too much like an advertisement for America.

Exactly at the end of the day its called Captain America. He's an American who signed up to fight for his country. It's was created by an American in America for an American publisher to boost American morale amognst American troops. It takes place during America's involvement in WW2, probably America's finest hour.

Lets make it about international terrorists. What. The. ____? Its already failed to live upto its name and its not even out yet, on top of it, they are trying to make it about the international team, sounds like Wolverine or the Xmen syndrome will be in this as well. If your going to change everything just call it GI Joe 2.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Well, there might still be Nazis and "hell yeah, Red, White, and Blue" American reinforcement in this right?
