Pfffwhahahaha. That's your best work yet. Holy ____...

Where is that Red Skull from? He makes me giggle like a 10 year old buying video games!

Picture of Red Skull for anyone who hasn't seen it

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

I wouldn't put too much blame on Disney since Marvel quashed the Red Skull PF and Captain America dio from having any swastikas long before Disney bought them.

Well, I say Disney since they own Marvel now. They're one and the same.

But that proves my point that it's the STUDIO, not necessarily the Director that made that call. I'm just saying that it's misplaced blame toward Joe Johnston.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Fair enough. Sometimes people like to make Disney out to be the bad guy anytime Marvel does something like that.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Yet I just read a new Secret Warriors comic a few weeks ago that had Baron Von Strucker in it, in the 60's mind you, and he still wore his SS outfit and had a swastika. I just hate the double standard. Its OK in their comics, but nothing else? :dunno

I agree with what you're saying, but I understand their double standard too in some convoluted way. More than the usual 35,000-60,000 that buy comics monthly or other licensed products will see this movie.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

I can understand why they'd allow it in the comic and not the movie. The movies have to appeal to a much larger audience, so they have to be more careful of offending people. On the other hand, I'm not sure how having Nazis as bad guys are offensive...

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Like its been pointed out before, Indiana Jones had Nazis as the bad guys. Heck, they even had Hitler in one! Why can't we get Nazis in a WWII film? The PC bit is BS since the Nazi Party was a Political Party and excluding them would techincally be politically in-correct. :duh
