Eh, she's probably a moron, I can't think of any reason somebody would risk alienating their core audience, especially since she is only this character as long as Disney wants her to be. Unless she knocks it out of the park, she should consider the fates of Edward Norton and Terrence Howard.


Still, I've never avoided a movie because of something someone said. Now if she pulled a Spacey or something, that would be different.

Brie and the director are going all in on the sexism claim and saying it’s typical of men telling women to ‘smile more’ and to ‘cheer up’ and that it’s ‘an adversity only women face.’

They even put a scene in the movie where a white male tells her to smile, apparently just to make the point.

Um... did they all miss the memo when folks were going ham on Cavill’s Superman for not smiling enough in MOS and BVS? Sadfleck? Hello...? Nope, just looking for reasons to be persecuted now.

It’s even making it onto the magazine covers:

This captain marvel fiasco is a joke. Honestly its ridiculous how anyone cannot have any issues with these whinging actors and crew is beyond me. It's all about them if someone criticizes parts of the trailers its sexism. People are aloud to have an opinion for goodness sakes.

I think it's also because his whole face is fuller now than when he was a young man. So given that they're de-aging the older SLJ, the proportions aren't going to look the same as his younger self.

Also EW could be partly to blame. Their cover work has a history of sucking...
