So Grace confirms that CM is " Quite the Mary Sue.".

Ok, so Ahhnuld was the same, and most other action heroes of the 80's and 90's as well. I don't see anybody complaining about that though.

I know that wasn't directed at me but I'll respond....

Arnold obviously won in the end of any given fight but oftentimes he was shown having difficulty in the process. I'm thinking of Running Man for one. Also the Predator kicks his ass. Bruce Willis in Die Hard was no mary sue either. However in Die Hard 4 and (I've heard) 5, he's pretty much invincible - and I personally have complained about that every time the subject of Die Hard comes up.

Now, I haven't seen Captain Marvel to know in what ways she may qualify for Mary Sue status.

I still don't fully understand the negativity surrounding this film. Sure, Cap Marvel has never been the greatest of characters, but if it looks good enough for you to see it, then see it. I'm going to IMAX this sunday to see it, as I do all the marvel films.

I think it began because it never had a solid footing. Before the Brie comments, most people felt she was the wrong choice for Captain Marvel; Early set photos of ill-fitting costume worried many (as early photos of Shazam's costume did). Trailer was a bit flat and didn't seem to get people excited. Combine all that with a lesser-known and unpopular superhero and you will have many on the fence about seeing this one in theaters. Then came the comments which came across as pompous and arrogant. Now, those that were on the fence had decided to sit this one out.

No Mary Sue in any of them because at times they fail... they had to work to become good at something.... He’ll even commando you knew he was trained... he was closest to a MS though.. lol.

Rambo 3 might be close... don’t recall. Rambo 2 he is in pig poop... can u be a ms in pig poop? Lol Bruce Willis was lucky. Conan got crucified.. Rocky loses in rocky 3 and always starts off losing and has to come back.

Actually you know what I watched the other night - V: The final battle - that show/film was totally ahead of its time with female leads and diversity.

I'll add LUV. LUV for the 10 years and Feige's free-wheeling, excessive IMO shoving this character into prominence alongside Cap, IM, Thor in End Game. Srsly this broke me:



Tho who knows what real conclusions u can draw from a popcorn bucket. Marvel is full of BS, IMO, re its PR - like putting Cap front and center in promotional materials and he was only on screen 6 minutes in IW. Plus they are being so secretive about End Game - but promo materials and toys hafta go into production way ahead of time.

But I luv kitsch and swag - buckets, coins, toppers. Usually nice little things to have long after a movie and associate w. warm fuzzy feelings. (Plus I actually use the buckets and cups). LOL first world problem (tho guess I'll go to Amazon for End Game stuff - Mexico for some reason seems to have awesome swag like my steel Captain America Civil War thermo cup.)

Anyway I've had enough of Feige tryin' to push the next MCU IMO. And this character - supposedly she was always on the table way back to Ultron:

which IMO would've been better, but the character doesn't do anything for me anyway and actress isn't helping.

Lol.... Good to know I am not the only one who thinks BTILC has not aged well.

It was part of my childhood and I still have a soft spot in my heart for it.
