I have to disagree. Firstly, it's not Bale's job to demoralize the DP, if anything it is the Director's. Secondly, I have worked on films before, and let me tell you, what the DP did may have been unprofessional, but Bale's use of expletives and threats of violence is not how the DP should learn his lesson. This isn't like Maury where they sent troubled kids to prison to be yelled at so they learn they're lesson. The DP is a professional who made some mistakes, and should have been reprimanded, but not by Bale and not in this severe fashion. I honestly feel bad for Bale and the DP. Bale, because I honestly think he was just having a bad day, and the DP, for being embarassed and demoralized.

That's usually a last straw when being polite has gotten nowhere. How many of those kids actually learn from that?! Hmmmm? The biggest flaw with Generation Why Bother is the entitlement crap which is a byproduct of "time outs." Being polite once is enough. If you don't get it the first time, don't be surprised if you piss someone off.

As for Bale, I don't recall ever saying it wasn't excessive. And clearly, as we heard in the clip, if the director has any balls, they're squirrel nuts so he wouldn't have stopped anything. I'm not defending bale because I think he's "god's gift to acting" (I don't even think he's that good), I do understand why he exploded as it's his name carrying the entire flick so there's a considerable amount of pressure to have to address a situation a second time with the same person, a situation which shouldn't have even happened in the first place.

The way you guys are going about this makes it seem like... OMG! BALE?! You're falling from grace!!! He's just as human as you or I and like I'm sure every single person in this forum is guilty of, blows his top every now and then. It just happened to be the douchy DP who was too retarded to pay attention that day who got the brunt of it.

What we should be asking is, would this had happened if the DP listened and acknowledged Bale's request the first time?

the dude should have asked him

You gotta give Bale a pass, I'd imagine it's tough business having to lead the resistance against the machines.

That's sooooooooooooooooooo last year. :lol

not to defend Bale, but to put things a little more into perspective:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Bale

In an interview with E! Online, assistant director and producer of Terminator: Salvation Bruce Franklin said it was an isolated incident. "If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove...It was the most emotional scene in the movie," said Franklin. "And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed."

Actors Whoopi Goldberg and Terry Crews have also publicly defended Bale's actions.
"We don’t know if this (incident happened) at the end of the day, we don’t know how many hours (he had) been working. It’s tough. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I too have gone off on people, because if you’re a professional, you know what you’re not supposed to do.

So you think Bale's reaction was excessive? If so, (and I don't want to put words in your mouth bro) than we agree his reaction was excessive. What you did say was
Some people need to be treated the same disrespectful way they treat others in order for it to actually sink in.
It is pretty much pointless if it gets the DP to straighten out, because excessivity, while it may get the job done, can also be detrimental to the person affected. Bale's reaction did not fit the DP's crime, which was my basic point. Bale should have reacted appropirately, which, IMO, would have been to stop the shoot, set the DP aside, and explain to him that we have been over this before, and in order for him (Bale) to keep focussed, he needs the DP to be out of eyesight. Bale was probably having a bad day and therefore, went too far with his reaction, which is why I cut him some slack. If Bale did what I think he probably should have, I belive he may have had to repeat it again and again, but people make mistakes, and I just think Bale overreacted. And the funny thing is, he is MY favortie actor (even after this whole thing)! :)

Bale's butt chewing skills are indeed quite impressive. Heck they rival my Marine Corps D.I.'s back in the day.:horror

Everyone seems to have their favorite Bale rage catch phrase. My favorite is "You are SOOoo F'n Amatuer!":rotfl I hope I can work it my vocabulary.

Surprised no one has posted this one:

Yes, we both agree it was excessive. However, the twit was somewhat deserving of it for disrespecting the initial polite requests (per the article a few pages back, THERE WERE SEVERAL!). In the end, there's yet another bit of unrelated hype to surround another one of Bale's films (good or bad, it's still press) and likely the end result is Terminator: Salvation will make over 100 million and a DP is likely blacklisted from Hollywood for being a self-absorbed putz. :lol

So the lesson here, as posted by our loving Administrator is... "Don't #$%& with the Welsh Nightmare!" :p

Maybe he had reason too. *just saying* Read ain'titcoolnews for someone who was there's perspective. Why people want to judge him and label him an ass because of one outburst is what is nutty to me.

I agree. We don't know what happened all that day, or on other days. We're just hearing a few minutes out of it.

I think the real ^^^^^^^ is the person who leaked this to TMZ.
