I can't see it hurting his career tbh. It's boosted his publicity and the movie's publicity among the less rabid part of the population

Plus it was over care for his craft, there'd be a lot of "god he's a ^^^^" if he was yelling at his assistant for putting one sugar too many in his tea.

Wasn't the studio holding this tape as insurance so that if bale decided he wanted to drop out of the movie he'd think twice before doing so? But it seems they already released it anyway. Great ^^^^ing marketing!

Word Up Mr. Bale got fed up with these bullcrap DP's so he let him have it. Nothing wrong with that. Its so obvious that these Hollywood types have lousy work ethics, they feel they have no accountability. Mr. Bale had enough with the nonscene. I dont think its publicity to sell the movie. Mr Bale, yeah he is a delicate flower. If i were the director i would have kicked him of my set...naah i wouldnt hire that ambitious-no-talent anyway.

I don't think it's that simple, seeing as how the DC section is one of the more popular sections of the board (due 100% to TDK), plus in a SSF poll of best film of 2008, TDK won by a landslide. I love Bale and his work, I just think he could have handled it better, but cut him slack. IMO there are more Bale-heads here than you think, and some of them honestly think his rant may have been justified, but was definitely excessive. I think it was excessive, but my view of him does not change. He is still one of the best and risk-taking-est (I made that word up) actors of his generation.

Not really, some may just dislike self-worshipping actors. Plus, to be honest, you see him WAY to much anyway. I can't stand seeing the same faces in movies over and over. Some variation please.

He's never plays a cameo, so simply dont watch the movies he's in. He wants to do his job, and when people keep screwing it up, you'll get pissed. Whenever I do a STUDNET FILM I always keep my cool because I'm not paying my actors, so I dont want to drive them away. But there are times where I feel on the edge. They keep messing around sometimes, or they throw a hissy fit because they dont agree with something...(i'll listen to what they have to say, but that doesnt mean i'll do it. Last time I listened to my actors, my film was ruined. Oh well. )

He doesnt think he's better then everyone else (although he probably is) but he's a good actor, and wants to do his best. He's doing his job. If you think he shouldnt act that way because he's getting paid millions...well then i'd have to say you dont get it.

A job is a job. He enjoys his job, but it can be pretty stressful. "Playing pretend" isnt as easy as one thinks. Just as making a movie, isnt as simple as "getting a camera and filming ^^^^". (no one here thinks that, I know...but some people have told me this, and its a pretty annoying view of things).
