Christian Bale freaking out on the DP on set of Terminator Salvation!

I think you guys are reading too much into it. This is a 3 minute glimpse into the guy's life, taken completely out of context, and only in audio format. we have no idea what led up to this or what followed. I hardly think this is reason to boycott the guy. maybe im nuts, but thats just me.

It's not that bad... I've given worse ass chewings in the Navy. Honestly, when you are working in a tough situation...high stress and all that.. sometimes you can snap and go a little too far. I've choked people in the Hangar Bay onboard the ship, so I know.

We don't know if he apologized to the guy later or anything, so no need to tear the guy apart. Sometimes people just snap, pressure can do that.

What a jerk. To blow up at the guy, fine, we all have our moments and pressure gets to us all at times. But to keep on and on about it, to use the "high pressure environment" as any sort of excuse for ^^^^ behavior, not letting it go, continuing to berate and humiliate the guy is entirely uncalled for, unprofessional and disgusting. And since Bale sells tickets and the entire production hinges on him he can get away with this behavior and no one dares to say anything. They just listen to him scream and keep their mouth shut because with a hissy fit he can get any of them fired.

No wonder this hot head primadonna attacked his own mother. Pressure can really bring out a person's true nature.

I'm very glad that people record these kind of outbursts that, once released to the public, tarnishes the celebrity reputation and forces them to issue some contrite apology and hopefully think twice about flying off the handle the next time.

And no way any journalist will grill Bale about this because if they tick him off they will be denied an interview with 'Mr. Hothead' next go around.

Exactly, maybe he felt like ass for doing it and bought the guy a lap dance or something that night He could be the nicest guy to work with and had a bad moment, even the kindest souls can snap. Is it a ^^^^ty thing what he did, sure, is this little snippet enough to crucify him for, no.

Doesn't make him a saint, but one thing I will say is, and maybe Hollywood works different, that sort of outburst is unprofessional in the regular business world. BELIEVE me I'd love to snap like that on some of my co-workers sometimes, but if I did my ass'd be on the street in 5 seconds flat. Somehow in Hollywood, there's more tolerance for that sort of thing.

Of course it's different - they spent millions to have him in their film, they aren't gonna fire him no matter how rude and mean he is. And he knows it. To me, it makes him even more unprofessional for having an outburst like this "just because he can." Yes, perhaps he apologized later (and there's not one film set that doesn't have some type of outburst now and then... but this one was a bit much), but there's really no excuse that could cover the AMOUNT of abuse he dished out. It's like of like a wife going ballistic on her husband and then saying, "Oh, sorry, I'm PMS-ing"... it's no excuse for verbal abuse at all... and I can say that because I'm a woman

Honestly, how would you feel if you were the DP and you were going about doing your job and then - zing - out of the blue the actor chews you out. I'm sure the lighting adjustments were needed, or else why would he be doing it in the first place? Believe me, every person on a set knows exactly how much it costs to run one frame of film, so if they're having to re-do the scene over and over, there's got to be a good reason for it.

Meh, doesn't surprise me, actors are nuts! Have you seen the Lily Tomlinson ones from the set of I Heart Huckabees? Some actors just take themselves way too seriously.

But if some dude is walking up and down the set, when he shouldnt, (and you should be standing still, unless you NEED to move) then yeah, that would piss me off, esp after 40 takes. Anyone claming Bale's wrong, hasnt really made a movie.....(I know Dr. M has, and you should totally understand his frustation).
