I agree the pose is just ok, cm trying to combine the lightsaber in hand pose with the force choke. Came out a bit awkward.

But i never understand the part about having a life-size vader instead, someone also said you can buy a vader suit for the same price. To me they are completely different, i DONT WANT a life-scale piece or some prop, the attraction of those statues are their intricate details in smaller size, once it becomes large it loses its appeal. Actually i would preferred a 1/4 scale instead of 1/3, but that's as big as it can go. Anything bigger just loses its wow factor.

Force choke? This is the pose from ESB when he is telling Luke to join him and rule the galaxy.

Exactly, good point, I didn't even notice gagaliya posted about "force choke". That ESB pose has nothing to do with choking there. Use of force happened before, when they were fighting, now Vader is trying to get Luke on his side.

And you bring this image to support your theory for Vader Foce choking Luke? Please watch again ESB. you might even enjoy it. ;) Until then:

I'm probably on my own... but I personally think this is one ugly looking Vader.

The left arm is ridiculously small. The helmet looks too short - too much gap between the rim and his shoulders. The legs look too far apart. The face looks too squashed up.

The whole thing is awkward looking.

Sorry guys, just my opinion :(

I am with Mandible, it is just not accurate enough for me at this price. Fingers crossed the Sideshow 1:2 will happen and looks good.

The problem is there will NEVER be a 100% accurate vader. I like the attakus vader 1 pose better too, it's simpler but much more imposing. This pose isnt bad or anything, just standard. The arm length is just the angles..i am sure they all measured to scale for this. Leg too far apart i agree with, would look much better if he was just standing normally.

However given the very high quality cinemaquette statues are known for, the 1/3 scale, the light up electronics, and the only highend statue i am aware of with a face sculpt. I think $2k isnt a bad value, considering some of the other stuff selling close to $2k on ebay.

At the very least i can be at peace it wont have sideshow's crap paint. I think this will be the definitive vader to beat. Be interesting to see how sideshow's LSF version will look if they ever make one, given the lackluster sales they had so far with the others.

I do not require 100% accuracy with my statues. I am more interested in the pose and the pose chosen for this one makes it a deal breaker.

SS will give us something bigger and better in due time imho.

If there will be an awesome Darth Vader statue that is 100% accurate but he has the pose of Borat I wouldn't buy it.

But if it has an iconic pose like the one in the pic, but isn't 100% accurate I would prefer the not so accurate one :wink1:

Borat? I thought that was Freddie Mercury of queen? :dunno

Me, If I'm laying out that much money I want both, accuracy and pose. But that's why I prefer 1/6 figures, if it has the accuracy, I can pick the pose. :)

Well said. No excuses at that price.

Has it been addressed that ESB helmet was not two-toned like it was in ANH... who am I kidding, this forum is all about the details. ;)

To me the highest priority is not the pose nor accuracy, but the paint quality. You can have the best pose and accuracy but if it's painted like some of sideshow crap with spills & bleeds all over the place, unstraight lines, and/or color spots, nothing else even matters.

It's all about the paint!

I have been toying with the idea of selling a few of my higher-end PFs to pay for this; I would prefer it to be 1/4th scale to fit with Luke, but there is no telling when Sideshow will do the right thing and release an ESB Vader. :dunno

I think the cinemaquette Vader is darn near perfect.

I don't know this piece is tempting to say the lease but have to see in hand pics and price tag. Potential is there but if SS darth maul legendary figure is coming I'm sure a vader will be on is way as well
And I rather pay $2000 for that than $2000 plus for a 1/3 cinamaquette but only time will tell let's see

I've got 4 CM's so scale wise this will fit in with some of my collection, but I'm thinking of going SS Legendary Scale for Vader.
In hand pics might change my mind, but as is, the legs look awkward, the raised forearm too short and the helmet doesn't sit on the shoulders right.
Don't get me started on the price point of CM's and LSF's tho. When they are 90% fabric, 2k is a ridiculous price.
