Eh, congrats to anyone getting one, but I'm pretty happy with my Vader PF. As a side note, it appears that his saber is nearly white when it's not turned on. That would be a problem for me, considering that I hardly ever actually use the light-up features on my statues.

Yeah, a blade that looks white most of the time is not a very good choice. I don't know what Sideshow used with the Mechano-Maul figure; but it looks good on and off.

Wow!
This turned out great!!
I remember seeing the Proto during SDCC and wanted to get this badly... but way out of my price range...

My only nitpicks:

Read my post again please. I never said statue.

Then it's just apples and oranges if you're talking about another representation that's not a statue...

Someone who's going to buy this statue is buying it for reasons including the fact that it's a statue.
If you are implying that there's better representations that are not statues,
like a painting, a hologram, a prop, etc,
may as well say buy a small motorcycle with the $2,000 that it is not worth...

I agree, obviously the props are dead on, obviously screen shots or studio photos are "accurate and great representations" as you mention, but what else is there to compare to on a thread where we are talking about "statues" or figures...?

Because honestly, as a Vader collector, if there's a better representation (that's licensed, cuz I prefer licensed items) and figural (other than helmets cuz I have all those) then I'd like to collect those...=)

The saber is like a florescent bulb that is incased in a clear like tube, it's like your florescent bulbs that are white , so yes it looks white , but that is how all the gases are in there so that it turns on with a flow and not your typical led that just lights up quick , it actually is very cool but I can understand not liking the white look

Was just talking to George at CM, and again he reconfirmed the scan on the Helmet...
interesting he mentioned that the folks who saw the cast / mold wanted to "fix" it because it was asymmetrical, but they had to explain to them that the ot Vader helmet was supposed to be asymmetrical...

I wanted to see a red tube at first, but I realized, it's no different than the FX lightsabers...so, I'm cool with that.

This vader is for those vader fans who want a good size not to big not too small museum quality figure that do not micro anilize the screen accuracy stuff, but enjoy the collecting of something that will wow anyone whoa sees this in person, this does the job, the saber and sound is amazing and the Earl jones voice does not sound like it's coming from a toy , it actually is impressive , my computer is slow and I'm trying to get this going so I can put up the video, this will still be better then ss Lsf IMO, even though at one point I thought the Lsf would blow this one away, granted I have not seen the Lsf, but the size will be for those who have the spade , and I will be very surprised if they do a removable helmet, but if they do that would be amazing as well especially if they do the resin head for this , BUT will they have Earl jones voice ? Or will the saber turn on with the cool flow that this one does? Only time will tell

Yeah, it looks great lit up... but not so nice when off.

:exactly::goodpost:

Just noticed that; damn that's ugly when it's off. I have to say with all my gear that lights up, they'd spend 99.99999% of the time off.

Sorry, the more I look at this, the worse I find it.

The helmet - looks lights a girl with a bob haircut.
The stance - looks like he's trying to hang a turd.
The lightsaber - white WTF?

Three VERY important things when nailing a Vader.

AND

$2500!!! It should be damn near perfect for that price.

I don't know any girls with a bob haircut who're ugly enough to look like Vader's helmet...
and if I did, I wouldn't admit it...:lecture

Everyone on the forum says the turd thing whenever they see a character with bent legs (predator . artfx+ vader etc):dunno

white lightsaber looks just like the deactivated MR FX lightsabers...like saying you're television screen looks black when it's off...
perhaps a red tint would make it look like its on all the time,
but i dont have a problem with that...

Don't pay attention to him,
Every now and then he crawls from under the bridge to "interact" with me... even though he has requested me to NEVER "talk" to him again...
:cuckoo:

Soo desu ka? interesting to learn that sometimes these "interactions" on the boards have some backstory...

the only problem I find with this statue is the white light saber. As others have said 99% of the time it will be displayed with lights off. Vader with a white light saber, seriously? :slap

I can understand it if the tech is not there say 20 years ago, but now this can be easily accomplished especially on a 2k statue to have red light saber even when not powered on. Why CM chose to go this route with a white saber is beyond any understanding..

Can someone take a pic of the light saber part, I wonder if one can commission a custom part to replace it.
