someone posted problems with their cm vaders electronics...just contact cinemaquette if your retailer cannot help, cm is pretty responsive and have a decent customer service track record..

Attakus Vader 1 still the best in my eyes.

I do wish I could pick a CM vader one day unless sideshow makes LSF.

this is such an epic statue not just the pose, but the all sculpt cloth/paint.

yep. If I collected SW, I would be all over this piece. Though, I still think the human head looks really bad.

What's with the tiny left arm?? God, that looks terrible; how could that have passed QC? I'd cut that gimp arm off and then make up an extended universe story to console myself.

this is back in stock looks like

Naaa..these are made to order, and Cinemaquette isn't taking any more orders for Darth Vader. They stopped taking guaranteed orders in 2011, any orders in 2012 are waitlisted in case people cancel their orders...and it's already a long list from what I've been told.

They aren't making more than 300, if I recall George's comment correctly. Even the creature from the black lagoon will only be limited to 500. $1,650 price tag.

I thought the edition size was supposed to be up to 1000? I guess demand was not as high as they expected.

Perhaps not...I remember an awful lot of negativity towards the piece when it first debuted...maybe because the price was divisive? And some folks look for a good reason they shouldn't buy it perhaps? I have few minor nitpicks about it myself, but not enough to keep me from buying one. It is the best figural Vader out there in terms terms of likeness excluding a prop or life size item. Maybe that is also the reason for the price drop....

I do remember that the edition would never surpass 1,000 but it never meant they had to make a thousand. That effectively made vader probably one of the lowest, if not the lowest run on a cinemaquette...ironic since he is probably the most popular character they have made to date.

Perhaps if more people knew that the edition size would be this limited, the 2k price would be more understandable. But honestly, the quality if this piece is really amazing...I know some folks were picking on some of the cosmetic details about it, but the piece is very Very solid. The outfit is real, good quality leather. The helmet is a solid build. The head alone is a heavy piece...I admit it is pricey, but as a Vader connoisseur, it was a necessary addition to the collection. I'll put it this way-- I have the ss bust, but this is more accurate in terms of faithfulness and if I had to choose which to save from a burning house, I'd grab the cm first (then I would try to get the SS bust-- it's still Vader after all)

Lagoon will probably reach 200-300, they never hit the maximum number, I think the Predator had around 500 when they said 1,000 max.

are you sure? because i can place an order online and go all the way to the final step.

i remember when i ordered before it shows status as wait-list, but right now it lets me place the order, also the stock says limited stock which means it's in stock not wait list. I am pretty sure you can order this right now...

Given the awkward pose, white lightsaber, and little arm, i am not surprised. Glad they moved to a new website and lost my preorder, would regretted buying this for $2k.

As an owner of this piece i can tell you that the arm is in perfect proporition with the other arm and body, i doubt a sculpter like Steve Wang would get that wrong.

I really don't think you'd regret it -- it's really the best figural Vader out there...on par with the Sano Alien as the best figural alien in terms of faithfulness to the look of the original...in person, it's really something else...I think the arm just looks like it might be shorter cuz it's muscular but it's not...plus the leather bunches up in the crook really good ---

but they've already closed the edition to 300 -- straight from the horse's mouth...they manufacture them in batches but I was already told that not everyone on the waitlist will score one...(that's why it's a waitlist)

I was told a few days ago what has been mentioned before: if you ordered by the end of 2011 you are pretty safe for the final 2 batches of this piece. The last 2 batches will ship in November and December. They do want to move on to produce the Creature and wrap up Vader.

That said, they will work the wait list/limited stock orders or whatever you want to call them that have been placed so far in a fair way and in the order they came in. Not everyone will be able to score this piece and with the apathy in full force for this one most people won't notice.

If I have learned anything from forums and this hobby is that the same way people bash and pass on something is the same way the same group all of the sudden finds the same thing desirable later on. More so if the Vader LSF is not the dream made reality that most people are picturing in their heads. I remember complaints about the CM Predator not having a switch-out masked option and the crown being wrong/not accurate when the $2,000 price came to light...

Seeing the pics I am surprised that at this scale the reveal sculpt and paint work are a bit plain. Pretty cool piece, otherwise.

Yes I am sure. This is info straight from Cinemaquette. I ordered in May of 2012 and have around 30 people ahead of me on the waitlist. Only 2011 orders are guaranteed to be filled.

I got the call...just wish it hadn't come 2 weeks before Christmas. I have a TOUGH decision to make!!
