I want to know why the announcers would say he needs Heisman consideration.

He doesn't lead in yards, he is tired for TDs now with 2*.

* he really only has one legitimit TD.

I guess you're not counting his defensive TDs.

What's interesting about this game is if Houston loses, they blow $11 million that Conference USA would receive for Houston playing in a BCS bowl game.

Southern Miss has been pretty good over the years as far as teams from non-automatically qualifying conferences go. They were ranked for a reason, and have pulled their share of upsets over highly touted, ranked teams from big conferences in their day.

I want to see all the best teams really have to play each other.

Well, I guess you're happy this year that we're finally getting this in the BCS championship game. Personally, I wish LSU could be playing Oklahoma State

As for Mathieu, the drug thing keeps him out of any Heisman consideration, but having watched just about every LSU game this year, I think he's the best player on LSU (which is the best team). So if that were your criteria (it isn't for me, but it seems to be the case for some), I think he deserves consideration.

We need a playoff with how broke the system is. I want to see all the best teams really have to play each other. Its one of the things that makes the NCAA Basketball tourney worth watching.

Yeah these guys are horrible. One of the reasons I hate to watch sec games.

And wtf is with honey badger nickname. I haven't seen a single thing to earn such a nickname in any LSU games.

Carson Palmer's brother said he thinks LSU would have to be considered an all-time great college team IF they beat Alabama again, and it's hard to argue with the stats--8 of 13 wins over ranked teams and the average margin of victory in those games was 22 points. They beat 3 teams ranked in the top 3 (would be 4 if they beat AL again). Their depth and excellence at defense and ability of their O-line to really dominate into the 3rd and 4th quarters is a thing of beauty.

Other factors helping Ok St:

- Va Tech getting crushed...Ok St will pass them in polls (Harris and USA Today)
- Stanford not playing...Ok St should pass them in polls (Harris and USA Today)
