I just haven't decided if I want to continue to use CSC, I know that it wasn't their responsibility directly and they've improved their security but I had to cancel two cards because of it which just proved to be such an inconvenience and hassle to deal with and I'm just not sure I trust them enough to continue to shop from them.

I know other people may feel differently but it's just my own opinion on the matter.

I had to weigh the same mixed feelings. for me, its more the scare of 'what if they are compromised' again

Ultimately, what I did: I got a second cc that I will now use for online purchases only...if it gets compromised, the exposure is less - will not have to call all ultilities, etc. I left that for my main card. So, I decided to keep their orders, but it does concern me.

Who is going to be using CSC in the future? All the stress they put their customers through and they don't even offer a discount is not good business.

suffice to say, I will no longer be using CSC anymore. I wont even bother going to their site anymore for that matter... sorry CSC.. I know this might sound harsh.. but you are now dead to me..

Well I had a predator figure on pre-order with them and they informed me that if you want to cancel due to the credit card fraud they would waive the cancellation fee. Then again, I'm not sure if you have to have canceled your cards and actually been hit for them to waive the fee.

Sounds reasonable.

Well,

Chase just confirmed with me that the Betamax VOIP, something to that effect, in the amount of $27 and change was also charged onto my stolen card which was being kept at CSC for me to make purchases.

Chase is obviously doing the right thing. Chase has begun sending out the affirmation of fraudulent charges documents which the customers need to fill out and get back to them so that they can proceed forward with their internal investigations and notifications to the appropriate authorities as the gentlemen from Chase just mentioned.

Also make sure that if you had pending credits on your stolen card that you remind Chase of this so that they can go ahead and "push" the credit into the new account (card) you opened up because he advised me that while Chase will automatically forward those credits into the new account that the customer should still keep an eye on the credit and notify them when it doesn't show up, like it happened with my credit from another merchant.

From Thomas on the Fwoosh today:

Hey guys,

Keep in mind that Mattel has given us two 'confirmed' arrival dates on this product already, so I've learned to take what they tell us (including tracking information and delivery dates) with a grain of salt.

As of 10 minutes ago, I have now received confirmation from both Mattel and the shipper that the product is out for delivery today. WOOHOO!

And let's not get all 'conspiracy theory' with regards to what is going on at CSC. It's just bad luck combined with bad timing (x10). I had no choice but to go out of town, as I had to attend the annual ComicsPRO meeting in Memphis, and I chair of one of the committees. Needless to say I was on the phone kicking ass and taking names in order to get the exception required for them to ship the Bardas out of Texas (because they still had completed the re-stickering in California that was supposed to happen last week) and on special 2-day freight terms (which they do not typically offer.) The reality is that I was probably able to focus better on this particular topic as I was not also bogged down in much of the day-to-day in handling two stores, a warehouse, a credit card issue and other vendor stuff.

Oh, and while the damage has already been done (to both us and our customers), it is starting to look as though we may be cleared of any wrongdoing in the credit card situation. I'd love to give you more details on that, but it looks as though I have to wait until Visa/MC complete their forensic analysis of our systems. What I can tell you is that we are currently exceeding their security requirements on all our systems, so at least we can say with confidence that the site and systems are all safe for use.

More later...
T-

just had to cancel my card due to fraudulent activity. someone ordered a video card through newegg.com and had it shipped to an address other than my own. as far as CSC goes, I will still use them, but will never give them my credit card info. I believe they take paypal payments.

I love CSC, they were awesome to me...but this proved to be such a huge pain in the a$$ that I will be looking elsewhere for my purchases now. If for no other reason, other than I know they use a processing center that has been hit multiple times now.

Well, my Amex just got hit to the tune of $264 from Homedics for medical equipment.:confused::confused:

My only other CC is now cancelled, and I'll be living off the first one I had to get replaced. This really has been a pain in the ass. I've been hit for $400+, of which I have to wait 6-8 weeks to get it back. Both cards were used at CSC, the Amex most recently during their sale.
