I hope everyone has as easy a time of getting their cards cancelled and charges refunded as I have. One phone call was all that was required of me. If you had a harder process, maybe you should switch banks.

Not sure you get it bro...it's not the card that is the issue. Yes for the credit card itself, it was a simple phone call and all was well. The main issue is that because the CSC servers were breached, they not only have your card number, they have your address, phone number & email address and whatever info CSC would have requested from you. Powered with this information, they can do a LOT of damage. This isn't some minor thing that can be fixed with a simple phone call like a credit card. Once your identity is compromised, you are pretty much screwed for years and years dude. Now is not the time to call people who are in this situation cry babies. Trust me, if you ever get in this spot, you'll do the same.

I do get it, bro.

They have your address, phone number and email. Do you know how many times that information has been sold on marketing lists to all kinds of sources? I would guarantee your information has been sold thousands of times without you even knowing it. Companies sell your information all the time. And if you think all of those buyers are legitimate businessmen you are fooling yourself. There is no reason to believe that once you cancel your card, that you are going to be further victimized by someone with just your address. I would love to know if all of you shred your mail with an appropriate shredder. I bet most of you are walking security breaches.

I never ordered from CSC using my card that got hacked. At least two other people on Fwoosh are absolutely certain they never used their cards on CSC. This is bigger than CSC, but the media barely blipped over it. The real number of people who were compromised isn't even known yet, and you guys can't see past CSC. I never used my card at CSC and neither did those two at FWOOSH, and I had the same fruadulent charges as all of you. None of you can explain that.

By the way, Visa officially dumped Heartland CC processing. They say they will evaluate the situation if Heartland proves they are secure.

The appropriate response to this whole situation should be cautious. Cancel your card, watch your other accounts, and wait until the full story comes out before you hurt a business that may not be to blame. Thomas still hasn't released any information regarding the processor, and until he issues the final statement claiming responsibility, there is no reason to boycott CSC.

Unfortunately, most of the response here and at Fwoosh is "burn CSC to the ground, I hate them, they raped my innocence, my entire life is over and some hacker from Siberia is going to steal my house."

I don't hate CSC, but at the same time business is built on some form of trust. We trusted CSC not just to give us good prices on merchandise but also to protect our financial information.

While I don't hate CSC I think it's fair to say that the trust I had for them has vanished. And while I hope that they can recover from this I personally don't intend to purchase from them again. Now this isn't a call for a general boycott of them, but just a personal decision based on lack of trust on my part.

So far from what i have noticed the perpetrator(s) have my name, address, phone, email, and debit card. Everything that is needed to pre-order an item. They attempted using this info to apply for discover cards and a auto loan in addition to the orders they made with my debit card online. Thank fully they dont have social and date of birth. Best advice i can give you guys is that if they got your info from csc dont just block your card, try freezing your credit so that no inquiries can come in.

If they ever catch the group that did this, they'd probably get a few years in prison at most. Hopefully the criminals are located in a country where your hands get cut off for stealing.

Recovered from that location were more than a thousand counterfeit credit and gift cards, along with specialized equipment to manufacture credit cards and identification cards.

Investigators arrested four male suspects for a variety of charges, including criminal conspiracy and commercial burglary. All are being held without bail at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura.

According to authorities, all of the men were in the United States illegally and are being held on immigration violations in addition to the other criminal charges.

Two of the men are Russian nationals, another is from Lithuania, while the fourth is from Uzbekistan.

Anyone who thinks we don't need to strengthen our borders and really crack down on illegal immigration will just be another statistic.

Right, because it's only illegal aliens who are criminals, and it's totally impossible for people to perform a crime like this unless they are physically in the US...

No, I only ordered from them as a guest and never created a user account and I got hit. Bottom line, CSC is negligent for foolishly disregarding site security measures to prevent their database from getting hacked. They could have taken further precautionary measures to ensure that all transactions being processed through their SQL sever were safe. They left the back door open during their server move and it got hacked. I never had a problem with CSC before and was always satisfied with their reasonable prices and fast shipping but the inconvenience of having my financial information compromised and having to get new cards is something I can't forgive them for. Because they were careless they lost my business for good. I'll be shopping at Alter Ego from now on.

ANYONE can be hacked. It's happened to alot bigger companies that CSC. Crooks are getting smarter by the day.

If they're illegal, it's alot easier to get away with ^^^^.

one of illegal's first moves to do in the US is to establish the identity of someone else, by using stolen social security numbers. I live in Phoenix, I see this crap on the news every damn week. When drop houses get busted up, along with weapons, drugs, sexual abuse and evidence of kidnapping, the authorities also find the tools to make/establish false identities, credit cards, driver's licenses, social security cards, etc.

I'm certainly not suggesting that identity theft is limited to the illegal immigrant popultation, that was you. What I am saying is that for an illegal to remain in the US for very long, they have to steal someone else's identity that is here legally.

I got hit, woopeee!!!

My card has been cancelled and I am 0% liable for the charges which where from itunes for a dollar, newegg computer for $1,250, and macys for $250...BS.

Last time I order with CSC I just don't feel comfortable.

That's not the point. CSC left the door WIDE OPEN for ANYBODY to get in and steal all of their customers' data. That's negligence plain and simple. They might as well put up a big banner on their site that says:

HACKERZ WELCOME!

And while not the case here, I swear some people are getting dumber by the day. Not sure about you, but it just staggers the mind that people still fall for those bank scams, etc.

I mean really, how many previously unknown 'relatives' can die in the same plane crash, be worth millions and have no will or related soul on the planet.......

I just hate the hassle. You put your trust in a company to protect this type of stuff when you give them business and money, and this is how we are all repaid. It's ridiculous.

Better safe than sorry. If you've ever ordered from CSC I would get a new card. I've ordered from them before and didn't get hit but cancelled and got another card just in case.
