Why would anyone buy a $2000 1:2 Vader or Maul when you can get a really impressive 1:1 Vader or Maul for similar money?

Some may already have a lifesize, and some maybe prefer a smaller scale, ands others just like different representations...
i plan to get a vader if they announce one even if I have a lifesize, am getting the cm,pf, and any new lifesize, they come out with...however, I prefer licensed items iappreciate a well made mass produced item

Yes they are.

I can, it's MR falcon and at-at.

Darth maul is so far down the list, i dont even think it's considered a grail. This can be easily verified looking at the PF version, most are going below retail...

:exactly: I agree, The OT SW Piece would be MR Falcon. But the sig version. The only SW piece "EVER" endorsed by HAN SOLO HIMSELF!! Harrison Ford Sig Millennium Falcon has got to go down as the OT SW Piece out their in my opinion. And the attention to detail is Flawless in my opinion :wink1: Its like the actual miniture is in front of you and you can hop in and bang the crap out of it trying to activate the hyper drive :yess:

I just found out sideshow claim to of found more 1:1 Maul busts and will be selling them. So i left this comm on their site. Please feel free to agree or disagree :) Dont u guys think its a little ironic that Sideshow happen to "find" extra busts from a "long sold out item" Hmmm My conclusion will sum it up for u. Sales r doing very poorly on the Maul Legendary Scale Figure. Why?? well 2 reasons, 1: The price tag!! 2: The LSF is an open edition size!! Who knows how many they made, Hence no investment for us collectors. They panic, "find" Maul 1:1 bust, and Sell hoping to hook new buyers into then wanting to buy the LSF to compliment it. Wont happen im affraid. U ruined the LSF line with no edition size and you should fix that with Obi wan, Wolf Pred, Wolverine, And indie and the rest when they come out. Us collectors have had enough of the price tag rip off with no edition size for our pieces. Only the rich and stupid will fall victum to these Shinanigans. I would of figured your hard paying customers would earn a little respect on your side. Simple problems you could of fixed had u valued your customers!!!! FACT!!!!

Agreed. Thanks for voicing your concerns and posting that!

they're not making them all at once :slap

they're not making them all at once :slap

:exactly: Yeah seems like they are spreading the production over many years.

Wonder if the Preorder for 1:2 Darth Maul will still be up when The Phantom Menace 5D comes out.

Bravo :exactly: why I haven't jumped into this line. I would have ordered Maul and Wolverine already if it had an ES.

:exactly: Im the same, When i seen it my jaw dropt but im not pulling the trigger!! I may when it goes drastically down on the secondary market a few years from now. Look at iron man 1:2 scale. That dropt in price. And these will to in time. I ordered one at my store as soon as i seen them at SDCC then the price tag with no ES was released :gah: Contacted my store straight away and said im passing. The guy i deal with said no worries we are getting HEAPS of them in when they are ready so if you change your mind there will be plenty here!! Enough said. They will sit there and sit there and when they drop down to a reasonable price for the scale with no ES i will scoop the ones i want up :lol Stil waiting for Vader CM. Atleast i know that piece will atleast HOLD its value thanks to their being an ES!!! :lecture And if i ever needed the money badly for family emergencies etc i can atleast see my money back or at worse case a minor loss. Ahhh gotta love the companies that actually take into account the collectors that fork the money out at them :hi5:

You did the right thing by holding off. I'm waiting till the after market prices come down on this one before I jump on it.

I see all your points...

Still, I really feel a strong urge to get this piece.
It really forces you to confront yourself as a collector. Despite it's open edition and insane price... Having this one as a centerpiece in your collection... aghhh!

I can't say I understand this obsessive need for an ES???

I buy for me and me alone. I couldn't give a crap it there were 4 million of a piece made. If the quality is there to justify the price... then to me, it's money well spent on something I've always wanted.

I have many "grail" pieces and yes they are worth a lot because of the limited amount manufactured, but again, I bought each piece without the intention of ever selling them, AND, I have never felt ripped off.

Totally agree with this sentence! :clap

:exactly:

As do I.

If Sideshow is going to make 4,000,000 statues of one kind then I expect each statue to be about $10 and be of craptastic quality.

You guys are missing the whole point of these " limited " statues, and Sideshow seems to have also.

Add a few hundred fakes from China since there is not even a base number or certificate of authenticity on these.

I don't factor in Open ES when ordering my collectibles. Seems so stupid to worry about such a minimal factor. I would love to be able to afford this. It would be such a centre point to my collection. Absolutely amazing

Well open ES means it's sometimes cheaper down the line and since it's available for a long time, there is no hurry to get it so you can wait for in hand pics. The price also won't go up for years so you can always acquire it for retail or less since their will be no secondary market mark up. Also, sometimes the first batch has shipping/breakage/QC/packaging woes which could be improved for new batches.
