I actually got him to fit but not entirely how he should look. I twisted his hand a tad so now the blade is going more up and down, I then moved him to the second shelf. The second shelf has a little space on the inside wall you can put the saber through. It's not perfect but it works.

Interesting--instead of getting a return authorization for my Maul, I got this e-mail:

Dear Tom,

Thank you for taking the time to contact our Returns Department.

Before we proceed with a replacement, let’s do some supplemental troubleshooting.

Make sure the batteries are out of the item and then take a Q-tip with alcohol on the tip (not soaking just moist) and lightly swab the electronic connections at the wrist, foot and base. Sometimes a clear coating or overspray paint can cause a thin layer of obstruction in the parts.

Also make sure to check:

€ Check the batteries

€ Check to be sure that the hand is connected properly

€ Clean off the leads at the wrist and foot with alcohol and a Q Tip

Please let me know if this suggestion works!

I understand their desire to only replace the pieces that are truly defective, but checking the batteries and the hand connection was definitely something I did during the hours I spent trying to get this to work. I didn't just try to turn the thing on once and then request a return. But just to cooperate, I will do the Q Tip & alcohol thing tonight before I respond. Who knows--maybe it will work. But if not, I hope it won't take too much longer to get an RMA number if he does indeed have to go back.

The really strange thing is that I requested a replacement for my Thunderball Bond before Maul, yet I haven't heard back on that one yet.

Well, in a way, ya that Sideshow email is like a big of a DUH! but at the same time, I'm sure they've seen their share of people making these requests after making little to effort to find a quick fix that is there, I'm sure some fly off the handle if something isn't right to them right away. It's a pain for sure, but at least in the end you will have a working Maul, and he's so gorgeous, it'll pay off for ya.

This sounds like the same problem that occurred with the X-Men VS Sentinel exclusive. I heard this worked for some, but not for all. I know that for the two that I received that alcohol bit didn't work.

Good Luck!

If this doesn't work, I'm definitely going to need some alcohol...

What thread is this, anyway? Post some pics, dammit!!!:emperor

Monk these threads while titled pic threads are usually for pics. We also discuss what is going on with the figure and our experiences with them. Mine comes tomorrow and I will certainly post some pics. Although mine are never as good as some of the others.

What, did I just fall off the back of the turnip truck? :tap How long have I been here under this screen name alone? Not counting the 2000-plus posts as Rook325 before that username vanished into the ether?

(sigh) I can't believe I have to explain myself...

I was making a fun post. As in "less than serious." We are still allowed to do that, man.

In this particular case, I was drawing attention to the fact that we haven't seen any new pics in a while. You know. Trying to draw out some of those who may be daunted by the obvious skill exhibited in Tom's pics, for instance.

Still doubt me? Take a look at the dancing wookie at the bottom of my post.

Now, if you'll excuse me, my 19-year-old cat is dying, and I'd like to continue comforting her... :( (For those who can't tell, that wasn't a joke.)

Here's a big one again:

I love this piece.

That is a gorgeous shot T.

And yeah, everyone stop your yappin' and start your snappin'!... more pics that is, of this amazing piece. :lol :D

That pic is just insanely cool, Tom.

It looks like Ray Park posing for a promotional still.
