Shoulders, where the shoulders ?
The Sideshow version is cool, but too skinny IMO.

The best representation for me:

Sideshow opted to save space with the shoulders and keep it about the same size as all their other 1:1 busts, I see no issue with it and I'm glad, it'll be big enough as is.

As far as the Sideshow 1:1 bust line goes, this piece falls within the style very well, may not be to everyone's liking, but I don't think it's a failure on their part.

To get it just right for supporting this thing and the weight and time to figure that out, probably run you much more than the $50 Sideshow wants.

Possible... Also the chance of making custom stand better than the SS one as well. Either way you go you will prolly eat the cost upfront or at the end.

I will prolly try for the Ex off SS site, if I can get the deposit and it stays up for the next week.

That's probably true. I was going to say that the difference in price is a lot more than $50 (and it is, since we're comparing a discounted regular to the exclusive). But if you factor in the reward points, it's only about a $60 difference between BBTS and Sideshow. If you want the stand, it's worth getting the exclusive from Sideshow. You'll probably get it quicker, and it might be a bit easier to get service if you have a problem.

But for me, the sticking point was the deposit, since I don't like the idea of paying so far in advance, and want the freedom to cancel if necessary.

Because you're talking like 4-6 inches on each side, almost a foot extra in width.

These busts are big, that bit of space saved if you've got more than one of these things for display makes a difference.

Yeah that was much better option than not being sure of the piece with pics and not knowing what could arise from today till shipping production standards.

No problem. Looks like they sold around 5 in the last 10 minutes or so. They have 25 more available. (Although BBTS has been known to increase their preorder allotments, so that's not an absolute number.)

same here...hopefully i'll be able to get one close to shipping time. i have ackbar on order and refuse to cancel that dude, but damn this Vader looks sweet.

I'm fine w/o the shoulder bells... I think one has to draw the line at whats included/excluded on a bust and for me this looks good as it is.

For 1000$, I want be happy with my buy, and want the best Vader possible, so for me that not a problem to have 1 or 2 inches extra on each sides.

My guess is that they made this decision partially to make the bust easier to display, partially to make it easier to ship, and partially to reduce costs (for them, if not for the consumer). I too would prefer that it have the shoulders, but oh well.

Hey Balsquat, how much is chinook selling for? I live in Canada as well and is it free shipping anywhere thru canada?

I think it looks more impressive as a display piece unmasked imo. Its also balances out the issues of his shoulders. If some of you take off your SW beer goggles and analyse the pictures with helmet, it really does look a bit off, like a kid wearing the outfit...
Its still a magnificent piece but if i get it, i'd have to mod some shoulders on to it to balance it out
