Awe, forgot bout him. At least he
bit it for the team.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Red Letter Media does NOT Always pick apart movies ... if they love it they will tell you they love it and they will tell you why it was good. They dont ALWAYS attack things just for attacking it.

They tend to share their most honest opinions on half in the Bag...

saying you watch it just to see them rip things apart, thats just a cop out for this review. they have loved movies they are reviewing and they praise them and they praise plot or acting and stuff.

the stuff they are "ripping apart" about this movie is stuff a lot of other people have complained about. how can it be "Ripping apart" when these are things a lot of other critics have complained about as well.

other people have compared this to Fantastic Four's studio meddling, weird editing and having deleted scenes in the trailers.... thats nothing new that RLM is saying.

im just saying, red letter media DOES rip movies apart on their "Best of the Worst" reviews but not with Half in the Bag.

You're using the quote "rip apart" ....but I never said that, not even once. They picked apart the film...like they do with all their reviews. That doesn't mean in a bad way. They pick apart by going through everything from cinematography to plot to editing. They pick apart everything and talk about it, good or bad. I never said that every review they do they rip it to shreds. Most people I know who watch RLM is because how much more they talk go in depth than other reviews. How much more they pick it apart than general reviews/bloggers do, whether it's good or bad.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Saw it last night.

It definitely has issues in the first third, the whole presentation of the team felt a bit weak and uninspired.
After that it moved along at a great pace and was great fun, but it does feel like DC was trying to go the Marvel route and do lots of awesome acshun and one-liners. It worked some times, and others it didn't. I wish they had stayed the course (which it seems to me was the original intent, but I might be wrong) and done a violent and funny adult film.
I liked Leto's Joker, but there was precious little of him, which is a shame. I'm assuming a lot of his stuff was tied to Harley Quinn and his abusive treatment of her, so I'm not surprised it was excised from what is supposed to be children-friendly comic book movie.
Looking forward to the Director's Cut.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Too many wanna be directors in here. This movie was good. My biggest negative was Will Smith, didn't seem like Deadshot to me. I usually like Will Smith but for some reason I didn't like him, I think it was his dialogue.

Boomerang was great and I usually can't stand Jai Courtney, maybe it was because we only got a small dose of him or that he wasn't trying to use a fake accent.

I feel like this was a great Joker, how it would act if he was a real life person. Hopefully we get Leto as Joker again.

It's really up to the individual I and don't think for a min that personal bias does not play a huge role in people's opinion.

If blatant copying of movies like episode 4 can be repacked in to the force awakens and nobody seems to mind. Then how can you not expect people to judge movies with their own bias influencing it.

When I think of poorly made comic book movies I think ghost rider , daredevil wolverine origins now in the critics mind those movies are no better then SS and BVS now I ask you how can that be. It's just a person's opinion you are the ultimate judge if you like it then that's all that matters.

Leto is the first Joker not to have white makeup on his hair.

I think everyone here knows I'm no fan of the MCU films, and I thought The Force Awakens was one of the most blandest movies I've ever seen, but Suicide Squad is worst than anything in the MCU, or TFA by far. I mean, people here are defending it like crazy meanwhile outside people that actually worked on the film even seem upset at how it turned out :lol

How can Harley be an accomplice to Robin's death in this universe if Joker already had the dead Robin tattoo when he meets Harley in Arkham. :slap

The guy who plays Rick Flagg said in some interview that getting that SS tattoo on his arm was a mistake :lol

I did not like TFA on first viewing, a bit more on second, but overall I give that one a B- I'd have to put SS over Age of Ultron, that one in my book was Marvel's worst 'universe' movie. I think the cast/crew being upset is because their movie they thought they were making turned out NOT to be made. I really hope a full directors original vision gets released, and not just 10 mins total missing scenes put back in for the blu ray release. I could maybe see die hard comic fans of this line and characters being disappointed in it, but as I've said before, if WB/DC/Fox/Marvel only made movies which catered to the die hard comic fans who know every subtlety the masses would pan it the way the critics are. They tried to make a mass appeal movie, which seems to resonate with most 'passive' fans, and yet it's the critics, (whom you never assume are well versed in the comics), are the ones who are acting like the die hards who tend to dislike things.

I did say the movie is far from not being flawed, I thought the beginning was very bad, hard to follow and clearly showed this is where many of the edits/reshoots were done. It did get better but suffered a tad in the third act, mostly due to
once jokers helo crashed and i knew he'd not return until the end
As I said a solid 7.5/10 despite the editing flaws.

I thought Age of Ultron was horrible as well, and I would watch Suicide Squad again, Age of Ultron was a one and done for me, but if I'm being honest, I just can't rate SS higher, it just has way too many problems from beginning to end.

Hum each of us will have an opinion and I think our preconceived notions and ideas as to what we expect the movie to be will influence our opinion. In terms of marvel movies I did not like iron man 3 I was very diappointed in it the tone the pace. In general my biggest issue with marvel movies is that they are becoming generic action movies. Thor 1 and 2 marvel age of ultron iron man 2 . Marvel movies are becoming very formulaic repeative since they follow a pattern they will be likeable but predictable .

I throughly enjoyed this movie and I think it's because I came with no expectations but my own personal bias might be influencing I liked MOS I liked bvs but found it choppy in the beginning which was fixed in the ultimate cut.

For me it's just a feeling . The last movie that blew my mind away was mad max fury road that was amazing .

If these movies want to survive they need to stay fresh in a crowed movie market they need to provide something unquie least they end up being generic action flicks.
