Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Fits totally in line with Harley from the Animated Series. She'll have a knee-jerk reaction against him, then when he comes crawling back later she always goes back. That is what battered women often do. And it does seem like it was weeks or months later in the prison scene.

she takes the choker off because she thinks joker is dead, same with her "property of joker" jacket. she has knee jerk reactions, you can tell Harley loves Joker more then Joker loves her. he ditches her and leaves her for dead when they crash the lambo, joker almost leaves her at ACE, the only reason he wants her back is because she is his. same as in the animated series.

deadshot practicing hugs after saying "I'm not a hug guy" would be weird if he's still doing it in his cell months later. all the events were fresh in that scene. now maybe if Joker straight up dragged her out of the cell, instead of kissing her at the end. that could have worked.

as a side note I downloaded the IOS game and it's actually pretty ****ing cool. :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

That would all make a hell of a lot more sense. When she first fell, my first reaction was to assume he pushed her. Because that's what a Joker/Harley relationship is like! But instead he's upset and weepy--totally out of character for Joker. Stuff like this was jarring. Her taking the collar off made no sense the way it was set up, and I thought so at the time. Another one of those things that suggested edits reared their ugly head. Trying hard to make Joker a feel good crazy clown murderer guy. And of course, it also fits with their relationship for him to try to kill her to save his own skin, then come crawling back and have her reject him, only to have her accept him later on in another circumstance. Not what we saw in the movie. They ain't Bonnie and Clyde.

Yeah, remember that early photo of Joker threatening Harley in the Helicopter? Gone along with the fight and he almost getting her killed. Instead we get some Romeo and Juliet crap :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Deadshot is an extremely dark character, and in this mopey universe he's the one they decide to make all happy-go-lucky? I'm sorry, but I just don't like it.

I don't know comic Deadshot so I can't speak to how "wrong" the movie got him but I would definitely say he wasn't "happy-go-lucky" in the film. He does have a dry sense of humor but he's a far cry from the happy guys in ID4 or Men in Black. In fact I would even say that most of the time he uses humor in the film it's as passive aggressive sarcasm to indicate contempt for those around him.

His "oh you jokers did NOT just do this" line for instance was when he realized that they were giving him real weapons with live ammunition to demonstrate his prowess. He was basically saying "you know I can literally murder all of you mother*****rs right now don't you? Are you that freaking stupid!?" It's not like he was affectionately calling them jokers and then high fiving them or anything.

Even with the one-liners and one act of mercy I always got that he had an undercurrent of melancholy throughout the entire film.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Honestly this thing is a 4-6/10 at best.....

Now I see the jolly ranchers out in movie land handing out their 8 or 9/10"s for this over-hyped/over stylized studio led mess....

9/10?????

So long as we have the
"it was a good way to waste 2 hours" and
"I don't care cause its DC" and
"Rotten Tomatoes is Rigged" crowd,
Studios will continue to churn out films like this.

It's such a bizarre mess.
There are elements of the movie (quite important ones) that I would give 9/10, but there are others (also quite important) that I would give 3/10.
:lol

And somewhere therein lies the truth.

Something tells me tha darthkostis is NOT going to be too pleased with the Deadshot deleted scene.

Trying way too had to be this years GOTG.

Thankfully the movie sounds like it's better than GOTG.

Yes, if it's the Directing and editing then it's 3/10

But for entertainment value, that the audience but aside the bad editing it's a enjoyable 9/10.

Guardians of the Galaxy would be the safer recommendation if someone asked "which should I see" and the quality of filmmaking is more consistent from beginning to end. But I'm okay with Suicide Squad being the less accessible of the two and I would say that I liked it much more than GotG.
