at the end of the day you are getting PAID to do a JOB... this is not a hobby. this is not done on charity.
Imagine a salesman hired to sell shirts and pants, and some of the clothes are not as great, imagine that guy started to scream about the quality of the clothing....
I know the directors technically made the movie and not sold it, but it was not their property. actors and directors get hired to not only make a product but to also sell it.
thats the whole point of the press tour, they sell the product they made.
Ayer is just STILL on the Job... the job is not done once the movie is over. Trank did the equivalent of taking the ugly clothes and ripping them in front of the customers...
Imagine if spoke people for pepsi went on tv and told everyone about teeth decay
you are hired to help create a product and you make it and then you sell it. then the job is over. (thats why actors and directors tell the truth years later)
even if the movie sucks as an actor or director you just HaVE to support it.... thats why you get paid millions of dollars.
