Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

It's not the fact that he's used to flesh out Harley Quinn. It's that, in the process, Joker's character is compromised. And apparently all because of test screenings and focus groups. But if you take out a couple of lame, off-putting decisions in the final film, that could all be corrected. Next time he shows up, they could rectify that. But it's unlikely at this point. He's been painted into a corner of sorts.

Jokers character isn't compromised, more people wanna see more of him. that's a good thing. :huh

I don't think he was "compromised".....he was barely even in it. Just because we didn't see him beating Harley the 2 mins they were in the movie together doesn't mean they have a loving relationship. In fact I think it was quite clear the joker mostly wanted her back out of out of his own selfish wants. Also the shock treatment, the way he offered her to his thug and probably other scenes display the relationship pretty well. I just think for suicide squad movie, the main character did not need to be seen being extensively abused to get the message across.

that's how the Harley relationship is with Joker, you should have known that going in.

and honestly it doesn't seem like Mista J is that nice of a dude to her anyways. he uses her to escape the asylum, about leaves her at ace chemicals, ditches her when batman shows up (I loved that btw), and her flashbacks have quick glimpses of abuse. the complaints towards their relationship isn't as valid as some would argue IMO. especially when we see all of it through Harley's POV, she's obsessed with him.

I also saw the helicopter scene as though the joker new his death was coming and he did not want Harley with him in his final blaze of glory
