Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

it's the most boring, the cheesiest, the worst CGI etc. of the trilogy. and it's ridiculous that they blew their wad on that instead of awarding the films as they came out.

ROTK won 11 Oscars, not 12. Therefore it was a total cinematic failure :lecture

11. :rolleyes2 :lol

One of the few things I've read from you that I completely disagree with. Bromance over bruh!:lol

we are talking about bad endings and suicide squad had one of the worst endings ever.

This is exactly the hyperbolic nonsense I've been referencing, making online discussion a bore. It's mediocre at worst. And the "family" thing is a trope of ragtag-group stories ad nauseum. It's old brew, and a flaccid complaint.

Who naturally defaults to the 2016 version? :lol

Says it all.

I agree and also love that movie. :lol

but saying the bat scene in dark knight is like daredevil is not a flaccid complaint? how can you even compare the scene in dark knight to the scene in daredevil? lol.
dark knight came out EIGHT years ago.... why are we even talking about it? lol

i guess dark knight should have ended with harvey dent bellydancing and having a knife fight with batman :lol :rotfl

:lol :lol :lol :lol

an ending that it shares with terrible movies like Ninja turtles and Ghostbusters, a contrived ending with a horrible trashy cgi character with a dumb machine and a weird twichy girl

you guys talking about bad lines? "i wont lose another family!" WTF :rotfl diablo met these people hours ago :lol

The dialogue in the end went really south in my opinion. The one line that sticks out for me though was “Lady you’re evil!” delivered by Willshot. Not even Will could overcome that line :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

"Let's go save the waaarld! "

Was that line in the film? It was in the trailer and I thought that was like the most Will Smithy line ever.

I don't even know how to respond to the first part and I didn't bring up TDK but you've posted about it at much more length than me so I don't know why you'd suddenly have a problem discussing it.

Yeaaaah....maybe time to abandon ship here. Enjoy the pugs, I guess.

Definitely PJ's Trilogy Achievement Awards. But **** it, Forrest Gump beat Pulp Fiction. The king is dead, long live the king.

And Shawshank. :cuckoo:

Even PJ himself acknowledged that ROTK's Oscars were recognizing the trilogy as a whole. I believe most would agree that FOTR is the jewel in the crown.

I forgot Shawshank was the same year. That was the year I stopped caring.

Fellowship is my favorite by a mile and the one I watch most often but I'm nevertheless always blown away again when I do watch TT and ROTK. There's a progressive increase in cgi and decrease in character moments as the story gets plot-heavy(er) but that's the nature of the beast. It's still a beautiful beast.

Agreed. FOTR is the masterpiece but whenever I watch TTT or ROTK there are inevitably one or two moments that make me say, "you know, this one might actually be my favorite." From a distance though I always default to FOTR being the best.

Two Towers is easily my favorite of the LOTR series. It's the only one I even bothered to buy. My appreciation for FOTR has grown over the years but I've not been able watch ROTK since my first watch.

TT>FOTR>ROTK

it's a hard decision though. :lol

Agreed, it's also the most underrated. :lecture
