Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

One thing that's funny about the one soldier calling Cap Tinkerbell is that TFA was the last Paramount Marvel film. Disney took over after that. So it's totally okay for someone in a Marvel movie to mention a Disney character when it's a different studio but if Ultron references Pinocchio everyone loses their minds. :duh :lol

this actually happened? ah the interwebz. :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

so you're saying if i went into the CW thread and called out that all the people who liked it and said the only people who would know Bucky's call words are nerds who shop at the wet seal wouldn't get a rise? :rolleyes2

I got **** on in that thread for saying I wasn't a fan of the music! :lol

it's one thing to not like a movie, but to hate it to the extent that you have make insulting comments in the movies thread is a whole other thing.

especially for a mod.

He's just jealous that the DCU films are so much better than MCU films...inner struggle with "post comic movie stress quality vs Disneyfied syndrome" :lol

I thought it was a given that we're all uber nerds and geeks that are infatuated with all these movies and toys lol

I find his posts to be one of the most rewarding because he informs while critiquing.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Yeah, no offense meant with the geek comment. It is assumed that every single person here, self included, is a geek. If you took offense to the Hot Topic thing, that was in reference to the line of Suicide Squad clothing I saw being sold there. I don't know much about the people who shop there, but I suspect it is somewhat different than a comic book shop crowd, hence the distinction. But to restate it another way--comic con exclusive figures aren't targeting casual fans who are unaware of the deleted scenes.

His USO did fit the narrative though.

He needed to first be called a tinkerbell before going all bad ***.
Sure, that's true. But like Khev, I think they wanted to make a point of this argument that "realistic" is good, though of course, all these comic costumes look silly. It's just a matter of degree. Evilface's point about Supes is a good one. Snyder though it was stupid to give him red undies, but. . .Cavill doesn't look silly with what they did give him? You accept it when you see something like this. So personally, I don't see why everyone is so afraid to go balls out with more comic accurate looks. Works more or less for Batman, Spidey, and Superman. Why not Wolverine?

The USO suit is the equivalent of the pic on the right. I want a classic Cap suit that matches the pic on the LEFT.

Completely CGI? :monkey3

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I give the USO Cap suit a pass because it actually did look kind of like the outfits the Guy Gardner Cap wore in the theatrical serials that were released in that era. And it worked in the context of the musical numbers and all that. But yeah, by the same token Feige was kind of carrying on like that really WAS the best a classic suit could look on screen. And to that I say yeah right.

I'll take a Hot Toys of the one on the right before the left.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

GOTG blu-ray hit shelves December 9th so I imagine WB will release SS at close to the same time.

And on that note SS is sitting at $318 million domestic compared to GOTG's $333 million. So after the bigger start it looks like SS won't quite have the same legs. Maybe end up in the high 320's. Pretty close though. Not too shabby for having such horrible "reviews."
