Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

damn, the MCU needs to shift the direction towards this then. That's ****ing cool.

Eh, I doubt it. MAX Fury is far too "Ennis", which makes it hard to adapt, period. Steranko Fury is too rooted in the "James Bond" style. Ultimate Fury wasn't half as interesting a 616 anyway. He was even more amoral and more of a nationalist, who treated most folks like ****. Hickman's Secret Warriors was mostly adapted by AoS, and I'd say considering they couldn't use Nick, Gorgon, Viper and Strucker, they did pretty good. I'd kill for some movies based on Hickman's Marvel work, to be fair. Secret Warriors/SHIELD/(New) Avengers/Future Foundation/F4/Ultimates.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

make sense, i'd like to see a more hardened Fury though. but he is a bad *** already, at least in the movies. :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

looks like NYCC has a "buh-bye!" Exclusive Joker Funko Pop. From the scene that got cut with his charred face.

Gives me hope for an extended cut.

It looks really cool.

I don't own a lot of POP! figures, but I'll definitely pick one or two up when I'm in New York. The Killing Joke figure looks awesome too.

Geeks (and, I guess, patrons of Hot Topic?) know about the deleted scenes and the trailer, and con-exclusive collectibles are so niche that they are meant to appeal to that group. Makes sense to me. I could even see them doing the Harley in her Animated Series get-up that we saw for about 3 seconds.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Have any full body shots of Margot in the jester outfit surfaced? If so I'd like to see them (for research purposes of course...)

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

That would make a lot of sense to include in a behind the scenes kind of book. I would be curious to see it, as well. Would it work, or be more like the "Golden Age Cap" suit?

I'm surprised she didn't look all that great in it. At least with the material it looked to be made from. There are ton's of cosplayers that look great in it.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I can't help but wonder if filmmakers sometimes cheap out on classic costumes as a way of showing that their reinterpretations are the "right" choice. ASM2 showed that you can make 100% comic accurate spandex work on screen. But other filmmakers act like the best you can do with spandex is something you'd see in The Electric Company.

I think that was very intentional with the Cap USO costume. It could have looked a lot better. But they wanted to feed into this myth, really started by Bryan Singer, that unless you make it look "realistic" somehow, it's comical and should be dismissed. From that perspective, it is so stupid to think Harley would wear a jester outfit. But the painted face, piggy tails, Debbie Harry-inspired look with short pants and fishnet stockings, and roller derby looking boots are totally OK.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I give the USO Cap suit a pass because it actually did look kind of like the outfits the Guy Gardner Cap wore in the theatrical serials that were released in that era. And it worked in the context of the musical numbers and all that. But yeah, by the same token Feige was kind of carrying on like that really WAS the best a classic suit could look on screen. And to that I say yeah right.

The USO suit is the equivalent of the pic on the right. I want a classic Cap suit that matches the pic on the LEFT.

Nail on the head with USO Cap. Reason I passed on the figure.

And Christopher Reeve in all his comic accurate outfit made me believe a man could fly.

you seem to have a serious problem with anyone who likes this movie. wots ur prblm bruh? :dunno

is it really worth your time to make snarky comments towards people, in the thread of the movie- that liked it?

not any that I've seen, I was hoping the BTS book would have one but it didn't. just lots of concept art for her.

His USO did fit the narrative though.

He needed to first be called a tinkerbell before going all bad ***.

it did, but that musical scene is gag-worthy, in fact the cheesiness of the entire first cap (bad CGI, horrible acting and a longer then needed to be story) is pretty gag worthy. good thing the Russo's took over! :yess:

Agreed. Johnston really made it work in the film. I liked how they combined the USO suit with the comics and movie serials of the time. His costume was era accurate at least which is why I give that one a pass but find the Whedon approved costume from 2012 to be unforgivable.

I didn't take his comment about "geeks" as disparaging fans of the film since we're obviously all geeks here.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

One thing that's funny about the one soldier calling Cap Tinkerbell is that TFA was the last Paramount Marvel film. Disney took over after that. So it's totally okay for someone in a Marvel movie to mention a Disney character when it's a different studio but if Ultron references Pinocchio everyone loses their minds. :duh :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

ZaCH, chill dude....I didn't read kara's comments in any negative manner.

kara is the last person here to attack people with words.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

so you're saying if i went into the CW thread and called out that all the people who liked it and said the only people who would know Bucky's call words are nerds who shop at the wet seal wouldn't get a rise? :rolleyes2

I got **** on in that thread for saying I wasn't a fan of the music! :lol

it's one thing to not like a movie, but to hate it to the extent that you have make insulting comments in the movies thread is a whole other thing.

especially for a mod.
