Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

i get more of a natural born killers or even the creepiness and vibes of something like the spawn/blade movies. to each his own but the scene is well acted, shot, and major fan service so i enjoy it. now that i think about it, SS has a lot of 90's-ness to it.

nickolas sparks is a bit far IMO.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Yup! Got a lot of SS goodies ready to roll in. :lol

Hm, not saying the movie is an All-Star perfect movie, but I really don't see how you consider this one of the worst movies ever.

I just spent the last 4 months writing a script for my class in the university, and it is truly some of the hardest stuff you can do. Kubrick even explains the difficulty of script writing. Hell, Allen, the master of screenplays says it is one of the hardest things to do in life.

For what Ayer accomplished in 6 weeks, is respectable. Obviously WB ****ed up by rushing it, but honestly, while we are so saturated with CBM, I'd say SS is still a better product than others like IM2, Thor 2, TIH, FF (all 3), X-Men, Wolverine, Last Stand...I mean, no way in hell this is one of the worst. :lol

I'd say the film getting a 7 is slightly high for what the final product really is, but to me it is a high 9. I think people are overly bias, and give no actual points as to why the film is trash. Realistically all CBM are trash when compared to the fact that studios are intervening and ****ing them up. Honestly, TDK, TWS, and maybe CW, would have to be the 3 best superhero movies out there that didn't get ****ed by the studio chiming in.

Wait, writing a script is harder than space travel, deep water exploration, antartica exploration and neurosurgery?

Sorry, this movie was one of the worst for the simple reason that it had so much potential and fell victim to the hacks that touched it

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I liked parts of it because I grew up with some of these characters, but as an actual movie it isn't very good at all. :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I appreciate keeping it cool man :duff

The acting is subjective, I actually thought Will Smith was decent, but some lines he just couldn’t save, “lady you’re evil!” really sticks out. I thought Margot was solid too, and Jai Courtney I bet did give a good performance but most of his stuff was left in the cutting room floor. The rest I didn’t think were very good though, Leto definitely stuck out to me. Also, going into this movie, I was super excited to see Killer Croc, but to see what his character was in this movie was heartbreaking.

I agree, I believe all the blame goes to WB on this, Ayer has been hit or miss in his career but no way is he as bad as how this movie turned out.

I don’t care Joker jumps in for her or whatever, I just mean the scene itself, how its shot, the music that plays, its just something expect from one of those Nicholas Sparks films, just without the chemicals and all that.

I want to see WB/DC succeed because I’m not enjoying Marvel movies at all these days, and I know competition could make the MCU actually step up their game and do something different. Fox is way too hit and miss, I’m excited for Logan but I’m fully aware it could be absolutely terrible like the first movie turned out.
:lol I normally take my temper full out on Facebook, Freaks are a bit more classier than that. :duff

That is true, and that moment really was horrible, but if that was scripted, I blame that actually on Ayer. Sometimes his dialogue gets weird. :lol
-- Killer Croc definitely was a missed oppurtunity, especially a fan of Azzarello's The Joker, and Bermejo's take on these characters, it was a bigger that it went that way. Croc should have been more Waylon, with just sprinkled bits of Croc to him. I love Jim Lee's version best, but that will NEVER happen on the silver screen.

I really do think that the 6 week deadline, and about 70% Warner Bros -- that is why the movie went the way it did. Honestly, if some of these actors hadn't been on board, and they didn't have popularity with em, like Joker, Harley, or Batman; this movie would have been one and done, no matter how much some of the other Squad members did.

Okay, I just thought you meant the scene didn't flow well and all that. The music was a bit random, but you have to remember this is from Harley's take on that matter, and despite it being a terrifying moment in her life, I think she takes this as her loving point for Joker. Music is more under Harley's belt. Remember, Joker would probably be something about "Purple Lamborghinis". :lol

I actually like some of Sparks stuff. :lol

That really doesn't say anything. Who are the hacks?

Plenty of movies aren't very good, I'm not saying this is Revenant, but this sure as **** isn't Sharknado 4. :lol

Ok ill ask u this

Lets say a regular car takes 1 year and a half or two years to make.

But lets say i make you a car in 6 weeks. The car is missing both A/C and a radio. No windshield wipers.

Has no air bags and the car runs but motor turns off every couple of hours in the road. Takes 30 minutes to start again. And the speed doesnt go higher than 30 miles.

But.... the paint job is just absolutely amazing!!!!!!
It looks like the most beautiful car ever. Most bitching paint job ever..... and the chairs are beautiful too.
Would YOU say thats a great car considering the 6weeks it took?
Would you buy it? Would you give it an award??

The example can be about anything.
Imagine i make u a computer with no speakers and no CD ROM and the screen goes blank every hour and the computer randomly deletes all your files...

Well... the car could win an award for best paint.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

If this movie is considered good and "not that bad", then the Halle Berry Catwoman movie is pretty good and not that bad.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Well... the car could win an award for best paint.

But is it a good car to drive?

The paintjob for me is harley and katana and the others.

But an award for best paint doesnt make it a good car. It still fails as a car

A beautiful failure

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Anything that looks like Lamborghini or Ferrari is a win.
It's not like you'll drive it off the city.
Crows is a failure for sure.

Imagine the car doesnt turn on at all, just sits there in your driveway.

How would that be successful

What good is a ferrari that cannot be driven? Would you pay full price for it?

It is all relative though. A dysfunctional car is still very much appealing to others; I got the analogy you are making, but that doesn't really fit into this. End of the day, that car can still be worked on and make it to the final product someone would want.

Now the film itself, unless WB released all Suicide Squad footage, and we got to edit it; then it'd be a bit closer to the car analogy, but still not the same since we can't retake those shots or recast or alter the script.

I don't think the film will get any awards, honestly I'd be surprised if it even won something like a Kid's Choice Award (do those still exist?).

Now you did make a good question here:
Would YOU say thats a great car considering the 6weeks it took?
But that also seems a bit irrelevant consider a car is what? Couple grand? Now a film is only 5 to 15 bucks to view. From the perspective of the studio who paid money for that script, sure it'd be closer to your question and would seem like a ripoff, but all of that WAS WB fault. They rushed it, and like we know in the hobby, you get what you pay.

Again, I really am just saying that all the bashing doesn't make sense when in reality the blame falls on WB. Can we really say the actor's suck because the dialogue blows? I mean it was scripted, they are just following the manual.

Again, I'm not saying this Forrest Gump of 2016; but I liked this film, just like I enjoy Daredevil, Fantastic Four, X-Men, or even Elektra. I love Leto's take on Joker, Harley was spot on, and the plot is still classic comic book. I mean who doesn't always have some vague villain wanting to take over the world? Red Skull makes no sense, he pretty much follows Hitler, but now he wants to take over the world? Yellowjacket has daddy issues so he wants to take it out on the world? Loki is PMSing cause he can't get his "rightful" throne? Obidiah Stane wants Tony company, so he want to take over the world? The idea is that villains are ALL ******. Thanos probably will be the same, but can't judge until we see more stuff of the Galactic MCU. Though to be fair, most MCU villains just go up against the heroes for different circumstances. Now with Enchantress, she wasn't about being a human's *****, and wanted revenge on the humans that trapped her, hell, Disney villains are the same. It's plausible, but unoriginal.

Well, some people do actually like Catwoman. :lol

It's been years since I've seen it, so I can't judge, but I don't see how this is horrible. This almost matches play by play to Avengers, so would that mean Avengers sucks?

I know you guys like it and taste is relative but the movie doesnt work at tellling a good story or even a coherent story.

That was kinda my point. It might be a pretty movie with pretty songs but it doesnt really work as what a movie is meant to do. Tell a cohesive story

I guess this movie is almost abstract art

give me an example from the movie that makes it in-cohesive, as far as i know it's a pretty straightforward, easy storyline to follow.
