It is all relative though. A dysfunctional car is still very much appealing to others; I got the analogy you are making, but that doesn't really fit into this. End of the day, that car can still be worked on and make it to the final product someone would want.
Now the film itself, unless WB released all Suicide Squad footage, and we got to edit it; then it'd be a bit closer to the car analogy, but still not the same since we can't retake those shots or recast or alter the script.
I don't think the film will get any awards, honestly I'd be surprised if it even won something like a Kid's Choice Award (do those still exist?).
Now you did make a good question here:
But that also seems a bit irrelevant consider a car is what? Couple grand? Now a film is only 5 to 15 bucks to view. From the perspective of the studio who paid money for that script, sure it'd be closer to your question and would seem like a ripoff, but all of that WAS WB fault. They rushed it, and like we know in the hobby, you get what you pay.
Again, I really am just saying that all the bashing doesn't make sense when in reality the blame falls on WB. Can we really say the actor's suck because the dialogue blows? I mean it was scripted, they are just following the manual.
Again, I'm not saying this Forrest Gump of 2016; but I liked this film, just like I enjoy Daredevil, Fantastic Four, X-Men, or even Elektra. I love Leto's take on Joker, Harley was spot on, and the plot is still classic comic book. I mean who doesn't always have some vague villain wanting to take over the world? Red Skull makes no sense, he pretty much follows Hitler, but now he wants to take over the world? Yellowjacket has daddy issues so he wants to take it out on the world? Loki is PMSing cause he can't get his "rightful" throne? Obidiah Stane wants Tony company, so he want to take over the world? The idea is that villains are ALL ******. Thanos probably will be the same, but can't judge until we see more stuff of the Galactic MCU. Though to be fair, most MCU villains just go up against the heroes for different circumstances. Now with Enchantress, she wasn't about being a human's *****, and wanted revenge on the humans that trapped her, hell, Disney villains are the same. It's plausible, but unoriginal.
Well, some people do actually like Catwoman.
It's been years since I've seen it, so I can't judge, but I don't see how this is horrible. This almost matches play by play to Avengers, so would that mean Avengers sucks?
