Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I know you guys like it and taste is relative but the movie doesnt work at tellling a good story or even a coherent story.

That was kinda my point. It might be a pretty movie with pretty songs but it doesnt really work as what a movie is meant to do. Tell a cohesive story

I guess this movie is almost abstract art

I've agreed. I've mentioned that story isn't original, and that is very expository; but good story telling is subjective and in Hollywood a rarity in product. Even Oscar nominated films are a bit unoriginal. Story can be vague like when they had to extract "the high priority personnel", why this person? Who are they? Boom! Oh its Amanda Waller...what do you know.

I think it's the opposite of incoherent, but rather too blatant.

I guess it also is idiotic considering BvS, which I also enjoyed, was very faulty and took me 2 viewings to get the concept of the story, and it wasn't until seeing the Ultimate Edition where we got all the answers. The first theatrical product should have explained everything, and leave it to WB to **** that up. Seeing SS so many times, I don't see how anything was abstract or subtle. It's blatant, it's unoriginal; the reality is many of these films are. Horrible and the worst CBM or movie of 2016 really doesn't make sense.

give me an example from the movie that makes it in-cohesive, as far as i know it's a pretty straightforward, easy storyline to follow.

perhaps incohesive was the wrong word but the structure of the movie is very bad. it doesnt flow well and it it has unnecessary scenes like some of the intros but then they cut important scenes out, they repeat the same information different times and becomes clumsy.
but it IS beautiful to watch.

this vid really really nails it down

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Whoa. Just watched the video and it is spot on. This movie is a mess. DC, Warner Bros are trying so hard to come up
With a unique comic book cinematic universe, but each movie has problems that can easily be fixed with just telling a good story. No
theological inferences, no trying to play the bad cool card, and no shallow spectacular spectical. Just tell a good story from point A to point B. In a way Suicide Squad is an example of what's wrong with Hollywood today. The studios have all these great ideas as how a film should look and what the cool
Moments should be but when you ask what is the movie about it's not easy to answer in a simple sentence.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Just saw this for the first time over the weekend (extended cut). The best scene in the film is where they're drinking. Quit the montage scenes and let your characters interact. There was potential here but the movie lacks focus and story.

There were surprises. I liked Leto as the Joker far more than I expected. I already liked Harley. I wanted most of the other characters to go away, they bogged things down.

As Flag said "20 pounds of sh-- in a 10 pound bag"

So JL 2 gets postponed, there's a SS sequel, a Deadshot solo film, and a Sirens film in development? It feels like WB is just throwing things at a wall to see what sticks.

yep and nothing seems to stick :lol

I wouldn't have imagined a Wonder Woman movie had the best shot of being their best film, but it looks like that could be the case.
